The views from the main floor, along with the sense that this is a real cottage, not a suburban home that happens to be on the lake, is what makes this place so special. It's the perfect blend of open and airy, but the rich wood walls are so cozy. This place knows and honors is history but provided just enough of the modern amenities to make it perfect in our opinion. It's true that the path to the beach is long, and once there, it's entirely rocks. It's beautiful and secluded, but there's no beach walking or real way to fish from the shore. There are sandy beaches just a short drive away. The hosts were fantastic. So helpful and thoughtful. We just loved it and appreciate their willingness to share this gem with others. The town of Northport is a 4 minute drive and we loved that too. Smaller than Leland etc. but big enough and not crowded. It was a fantastic stay!
