Welcome to Loon’s Nest on Damariscotta Lake, a classic single-level Maine camp that blends comfort, charm, and direct lake access. This two-bedroom retreat offers everything you need for a relaxed getaway on the water.

Inside, you’ll find a king bedroom and a second bedroom with two twin beds, plus a full-sized pullout couch for extra sleeping space. A shared full bathroom with shower is conveniently located, and the entryway features a washer and dryer for your use. The spacious galley kitchen offers ample countertop space and storage, while the open living and dining room is filled with natural light and boasts bay windows overlooking the lake. Wood siding throughout gives the home that quintessential Maine camp feel, while an air conditioning unit in the living room adds modern comfort.

Step outside and enjoy direct access to Damariscotta Lake from the newly built dock, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or docking small boats under 18’ (no large motorboats). Multiple seating areas allow you to soak up the views, while mature shade trees create a peaceful backdrop for outdoor living. Gather around the fire pit with Adirondack chairs, cook on the grill, or dine al fresco at the outdoor dining table as loons call in the distance. Located in a quiet area of the lake, surrounded my neighbors, this is perfect for couples, families, and those looking for relaxation and peaceful nature sounds.

This cottage puts you right on the water and just 10 minutes from Damariscotta Lake State Park, a favorite local spot for sandy swimming beaches and family picnics. A 20 minute drive takes you to the charming village of Damariscotta, where you’ll find boutique shops, art galleries, and restaurants serving up fresh Maine seafood. The region is also known for its local breweries and cider houses, perfect for sampling Maine-made craft beverages.

For day trips, the iconic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach are within a 35 minute drive, offering stunning coastal scenery and sandy shores. Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park are about 2 hours from the house. Whether you’re looking to explore Maine’s rocky coastline, paddle the pristine waters of Damariscotta Lake, or relax under the shade of the pines, Loon’s Nest is an ideal home base for your Midcoast Maine adventure.
