We have traveled the world for almost 50 years and this is THE rudest, most hostile and confrontational property manager we have ever dealt with. We moved from NYC earlier this year but return every couple months to visit family. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday our choices were limited and we went with this listing that had no reviews. Lesson learned.The first issue with the property manager had to do with her accusing us of "disturbing neighbours" as we tried to enter the building. We brushed that one off. The issue which led us to contact Vrbo directly to document the interactions with her was a serious safety issue. On our second day we were literally locked inside the apartment. The door was not stuck, the lock was engaged and we had to use a fork to disengage it. We sent a video to the property manager showing her that the only way to unlock the door was using the key from the outside. Her responses included: "guests never have an issue with the lock"; "we are afraid you have done something with the door"; "no one has an issue!"; "very often guest damaging the property".The unit itself is a tiny studio. The fridge and oven/stove are new but no microwave. The bathroom is old and dated with no electrical outlets for drying hair, etc. There is steam heat but the studio was never warm. It is a ground floor unit facing the street. 24/7 noise from the street and the two doors into the building being opened and slammed shut. VERY overpriced for a studio.
