"This was more than we asked for: a quiet surrounding, close to the forest, nice and well equipped holidayhome. We could start our daily walks from there, only 100 m from the forest and fields. We could make short or long loops, between 5 and 16 km, spot the works of the beaver, came across some deer and come back to a warm and cosy place. The owners placed a X-mas tree and lights so that we really had the Christmas atmosphere. Comfortable beds, warm water in the shower and no disturbing noises....

"Das Penthouse ist schön und neu. Ich denke wir waren die ersten Besucher. Manches war einfach noch nicht richtig fertig.Leider mussten wir jeweils einen Tag Urlaub opfern, weil der WLAN Schlüssel nicht da war und er zweite WLAN Schlüssel in der Mail nicht der richtige war. Wie haben denn Code dann gehen 12 Uhr bekommen, was aber leider zu spät war. Der Whirlpool war grün und somit nicht zu benutzen. Es waren viele Kleinigkeiten. "Hotel was wonderful! Breakfast was so delicious with so many options! You cannot beat the location in Sankt wendel, you come out of the hotel and see the beautiful church! (My parents were married there in 1964) the hotel was super clean with a bar and restaurant attached! The best ice cream is directly in front of the church! The hotel parking is good, just must watch your turn radius when coming into the ticket area. Call to get the exact address of the garage. Since it is behind the hotel attached but has different address. Super stay, loved every bit of my reservation! "

"The air conditioning was broken. The lady at the front desk said it was broken for a while but we were not told upon checkin...come to find we were sent an email that same day about the issue as we are traveling abroad we obviously sometimes are out of cell signal. They should have booked us to a nearby hotel. "

"When we were there (June 2025) reception opened at 1600 and was off-site. You had to phone a number to get a key safe code to obtain your room key. When phoning, you hear a recorded message in German. Sadly, we could not understand the message so had to rely on the restaurant staff (who were on site) to help us connect to reception. German speakers would have no problem but non-Germans may have a problem. Another issue we had is that the hotel states it has an EV charging point - it does not! However, there is an ultra fast charger about 500m away next to Aldi. So, if you're hoping to charge overnight whilst sleeping, it's not possible. Once we obtained access all was well. The staff were great, the room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. There is a very good restaurant within the hotel building and the food is excellent. In the morning, breakfast offerings include continental and cooked. Again, excellent quality. All in all, we found this to be a very nice hotel with very helpful staff (once we'd battled the language barrier to actually get in!)"

"Just back from a visit to Idar-Oberstein. Parking was easy, I arrived after 10pm so reception was closed but a staff member was able to quickly get me checked in. Room was perfect for my stay. Hotel is close to the Felsenkirche and castles. The Norma shop is 2 minutes walk away and there are several places to eat in the square."

"It was a very nice experience staying at the hotel. The staffs are very friendly and the price are also fair. The hotel rooms are pretty clean and the location is amazing if you like to do more of walking or hiking. It was a bit private place, not much noise from outside. Just pure Nature. Im very happy with our stay. Highly recommended. "
