Mantra Nelson Bay

8/10 Good

"This property is in a great location and the pool area is an asset to this property - very clean and well maintained. However, the unit we had, while spacious and with a lovely outlook over the pool area, needs some TLC. It was tired and in need of a repaint and new furniture, the tv unit had a door that fell off when opened and had large chips in it. The second bedroom could do with a ceiling fan given that the bedroom window could only be opened about 10cm! There was a pedestal fan in the room but was so covered in thick dust it was a risk to turn it on. The fridge door did not seal properly and popped open whenever the freezer door was opened. Had to keep the fridge on super cool mode and ensure that the door was pushed hard to get a slight seal. Kitchen bench tops had chips and deep cuts in it. The unit lacked any character and felt a bit sterile and only just clean. Some utensils, glassware and cooking pans were not clean - had been rinsed and put back in the cupboard would be my guess. For the price this property needs to lift its game there are other options in Nelson Bay for a better price and deliver a better standard. We left in a Saturday morning thankfully as it seemed that there were a few party groups in for the weekend. No consideration for anyone else - shouting across balconies and very loud voices in the pool area."

The Sandbar-walk to Little Beach & Shoal Bay Beach

10/10 Excellent

"Communication was fantastic, making it easy to find the property, check in and explore the area. The place was exactly as described. It was quiet, comfortable and close to Little Beach and other great spots. We brought our own supplies but the kitchen had everything we would have needed. I even spotted a jar of Vegemite! There's also a BBQ and outdoor dining area that looked perfect for a lazy afternoon. The fully fenced yard was great for our little dogs. We'd happily stay again next time we're in the area."

Nelson Towers Motel & Apartments

8/10 Good

"The room was a bit small for the two beds we had, however having a small table and chairs outside in a small alcove was a great way to have more space available. Rooms were able to be serviced each day if we needed, and the motel was quiet, with secure access and parking facility and was in a really convenient location close to shops and the marina. The only two maintenance issues we had was that the screen door leading to the outside alcove was broken and the shower door wouldn't close properly. An overall positive experience and visit,"

Azzurra - Huge Elevated Deck and Glorious Water Views

10/10 Excellent

"Outstanding place , fantastic views and excellent for entertaining.Sitting on the Balcony and watching the dolphins swim by was very relaxing , short stroll to the beach for a swim . about 20 minutes scenic walk to town along the coast . Lots of rooms and great for 2 families or a large group, plenty of bathrooms . The house was well stocked with everything you need"

Amore At The Beach

8/10 Good

"What a lovely place to stay! Conveniently located and loved the walk down to the beach -only 2min and we managed 2 swims there during our short stay. 10min walk in the other direction to the marina & Nelson Bay shops & cafes. We stayed 3nights in the lower garden apartment and appreciated the little touches the owners had taken -leaving extra towels, biscuits & milk. This was our 6th stay at Port Stephens and one of the most enjoyable. We would have given this review 5 stars but on our last night, other guests occupied the apartment above and was certainly no longer as peaceful as the 1st two nights -could hear them moving around & opening & shutting doors & their air-con unit was quite noisy switching on & off every 15min."
