「Good stay」

「Spotlessly clean room. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. Bed extremely comfortable, Breakfast very good choice and tasty. If we have one criticism it’s that the room was small and the bathroom large but we understand the hosts will be rectifying that.」

「Kitchen was stocked with bread, butter, milk and jam, which was lovely but there was NO tea or coffee. However, given how dirty some of the mugs were, that probably wasn't a bad thing. There were also dirty trays left in the oven and drawer. Rest of cottage was clean thankfully. However, frustrating as limited power points, and no shaver socket in bathroom for toothbrush. 「Lovely overnight winter stay. Hotel and rooms are spotless. Comfy bed with quality bedding, everything felt of good quality. Excellent shower and modern bathroom. We chose the Black Lion as we prefer to stay and eat in establishments that do not allow dogs and there aren't many now ( I know some people would disagree and want to take their dogs everywhere but we all need a place we can feel comfortable in and every other venue in town seems to accept dogs now so dog owners have plenty of...

「We stayed in a family room for two nights and overall had a good stay. The room was comfortable with nice view, but housekeeping needs improvement. There were sweets left from the previous guest on arrival, the toilet had a bad smell with no refresher, and the toilet tissue was partially used and not properly replenished we ran out on the last day and eventually gave up calling reception. We also assumed housekeeping was daily, but it wasn’t, and we had to request service after running out of...

「I was disappointed to find that despite what it said on the Hotels site the Red Lion did not organise parking if you phoned. I had to park 5 minutes walk away and thankfully it was not raining too hard. With no food at the pub food choices were a little limited but luckily there is a very good take away pizza shop 50 metres away. The breakfast I had was very good so no problems with that.」

「Excellent friendly hotel. Ample parking, clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant excellent. Owners are very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. There was a minor set back with checking in. Check in from 4 but door locked. It was a little frustrating as I’d been working all day but wasn’t waiting too long. Hopefully was a one off as I will be surely checking in again when I’m in the area. 」
