Ridgetop Cabin w/ Hot Tub & Sunset Views | 2 Min to Nashville 2BR+, 2 BA
Wake up in the morning in this historic log cabin to a view of misty hills and valleys. End your days with spectacular sunsets from large cabin windows and comfortable decks. From the newly remodeled kitchen and dining area, you can enjoy the Brown County vista. Only two miles north of downtown Nashville, on a beautiful ridge-top highway, the Overlook Cabin is easily accessible every month of the year.
Step through the front door and experience the charm of cherry-paneled living room walls, vaulted ceilings, a gas-log fireplace, and comfortable leather sofas. The adjoining kitchen feels almost like you’re outdoors with its huge windows that afford a view of the distant horizon. On this main level is where you’ll find bedroom #1, the master bedroom with a California king bed and updated bath.
An oak staircase takes you up to a balcony that overlooks the living room and leads to bedroom #2 with a queen and twin bed. This bedroom features large westward facing windows from which you can enjoy the beautiful Brown County scenery and sunsets. On the lower level, you will find a cozy TV room, foosball game, another bath, and an adjoining sitting room with a Jotul gas fireplace and queen Murphy bed (available with prior scheduling and additional fee per night for the entire stay).
Four outside decks allow you to relax at all times of the day. There is an expansive deck with a pergola, a covered deck, a gathering spot with a high-top table, and a hot tub deck. All decks open onto a western view of Brown County hills and valleys.
Throughout the cabin, you will enjoy the atmosphere provided by vintage furnishings and restful colors. The owners have equipped and decorated the cabin to provide a relaxing atmosphere and enjoyable experience.
"Green hills roll to the horizon and a bluish mist floats in the shadowy valleys like a delicate veil," wrote Midwest Living's Barbara Morrow, who included this cabin in her June 1993 article "Summer Comes to Indiana's Hill Country."
The Overlook Cabin has a 3 car maximum limit.

Absolutely gorgeous..pefect location for shopping and other outtings..view from the back of our cabin was Absolutely amazing..loved feeding and watching the birds while enjoying morning coffee..We've decided to plan another stay soon..
The cabin was very quaint and cozy. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was a little far from IU, which is where we needed to be however, we were pleasantly surprised. A great getaway spot with beautiful view. My only issue is the check in at the office lock box. It was an extra step that could have been handled over email. Other than that, we had a lovely stay.
My family of 3 and in-laws (total of 5 of us) traveled to Brown County to get in some much needed relaxation and outdoor time!! I wish I could drink my coffee from the back deck at this cabin every day!
The cabin was very clean and there was so much unique, historic decor to admire! The owners were so thoughtful with their notes, games, and unique touches like providing bird seed to enjoy watching the birds gather.
We missed the cabin initially as we didn’t expect it to be right off the main road (parking is very close to the road, so if traveling with young kids, keep a close eye!) so pay attention when finding it the first time!
Thank you for providing the perfect space for our weekend getaway!
A perfect spot for an escape from holiday madness! Wonderful cabin, very clean, organized, and plenty amenities. Views out back are spectacular! Bird watching, sunsets, relaxing mornings. Great hot tub. Loved it!

Our impression!
Well maintained and furnished. Loved the hot tub! Didn’t like that it is located on a busy highway and dangerous to enter and exit driveway. And we were surprised to read in the rule book we found at the property that visitors weren’t allowed! Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time watching the birds each morning. The location was perfect for going into Nashville, visits to Brown County State Park, and even a trip to Bloomington.
The cabin with clean and just as expected! Communication with the owner was good. The views were amazing and the hot tab was the perfect ending to an already relaxing day. The game room was a great way to spend a day just chilling. Just a couple minutes from downtown Nashville which made the entire experience even better. Will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved property, evenings under the stars and morning birdwatching. Two birthdays in one weekend fabulous area. Pristine home! Would love to see in the fall.
Had a great time. Took my nephew to Extreme to zipline, visited downtown and visited the park. The house was beautiful inside and out. The view is spectacular. Liked it so much I booked it for Fall.
