In a pride of lions, the lioness is typically responsible for the hunting. Hunts are most often conducted in the evening, but hunger trumps any rules of the jungle. Early this morning, we spotted this female sauntering with purpose. A lone waterbuck was grazing at a nearby watering hole. The cat was honed in on this potential meal and silently moved into position without a sound. The water buck was oblivious to the hunter creeping ever so closely.
