A decent hotel. I stayed there for one night, and if I travel to that area again, I would definitely stay there again. The carpets and the room itself were clean, but there were someone’s fake nails in the nightstand next to the bed. The curtain was torn, and there was a cigarette butt left on the balcony. Overall, the room was nice and you feel safe there. They said there would be coffee in the morning, but it wasn’t available, so I went to a diner less than a minute’s walk away, where hotel guests receive a 10% discount. Everything you might need is nearby.

There was never anyone at the front desk. You had to call a number to get anyone to respond. They seemed put out that you needed any assistance. When they responded they were on personal phone calls. Beds were uncomfortable, bedding had stains on it. Towels were small and stiff, not to mention not enough for everyone staying in the room. Had to ask for towels for the pool area because there was never any in the pool area. Front lobby was freezing cold. There was never any coffee in the lobby like they stated.

Everything in the room was falling apart. The bedside table had sticky spots all over from where someone clearly spilt a drink. The sheets were covered in stains. The desk chair was covered in white crumbs. There was black mold all over the ceiling of the bathroom. And there was a door to the outside (I was on the first floor) that didn't even lock. Anyone could've walked in. There was a bar that was (I'm assuming) supposed to stop someone from opening the door. But when I tested it to see of the door was locked the bar just fell out... I checked out less than 2 hrs after checking in. I went to dinner after check in and checked out as soon as I returned after eating. This is the filthiest most unsafe hotel I have ever made a reservation at. I would NOT recommend anyone stay here. No matter how cheap it is.

Room and hallways were dated with fixtures falling apart. Couldn't find a staff member to check out this morning. Felt a bit like it was abandoned, which may just be a symptom of traveling through a coastal area in the off-season. It does look like they're renovating a big section of the property, so I hope that means it will be in much better shape soon.

Clean room,great shower, easy parking and quiet atmosphere. The only negative comment is the lack of heat in the lobby- could not sit in the lobby due to no heat and staff were wearing heavy winter jackets!

The front desk staff attendant when I checked in was very friendly and helpful! The room itself was very big so I was happy about that, however, the bed sheet had stains on it and so did the towels.

My family and I recently stayed at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Mystic in Mystic, CT. Once we got into our room, we unpacked and my husband checked all the windows and doors like we usually do when we stay at hotels. We were given a first floor room and when he checked the sliding door that is accessible to the outside, he noticed that there was a sheet of paper with a big red x on it taped to the door and the door itself was not locked. We're not sure why that was like that and why the door was left unlocked but it made my family feel very uneasy and uncomfortable. My husband went to the front desk to let the receptionist know and she didn't seem too alarmed by the situation. However, she was able to change our room upon our request since we didn't feel safe in that room.

When my family and I saw the room we gave it the benefit of the doubt as we were just sleeping there and not going to be staying in the room much. In the morning I washed my face and grabbed one of the folded towels to dry my face. I patted my face dry and looked down and say what appeared to be hair piled inside of the towel like someone had shaved their beard. It was gross, we packed up and checked out and brought this to the attention of the front desk person as we asked to speak to management, we were told that the manger wasn’t there and they couldn’t call them but they would pass the message along and the front desk personal gave me the email to the manager, the front desk person also told me that due to it being a holiday they didn’t have any cleaning staff that night so my guess is that someone didn’t change the towels. I have sent an email to management but have not gotten any responses. Terrible place to stay.
