We decided to try something new this year and recently stayed here. One thing I do have to say is that we were very appreciative of the early check in after our 14 hour drive. I never leave bad reviews, I’m very optimistic and try to make the best out of everything. However, I really feel others should know what they’re getting into before booking. Our family is extremely busy and have very demanding jobs, so spring break is our one time to unwind. So it’s really important that we stay somewhere that lives up to the advertisement.
For starters, this condo is not oceanfront. We live in upstate NY so I always pay extra for oceanfront. I was EXTREMELY disappointed to see that we were angled ocean view not oceanfront. Watching the sunrise from the balcony wasn’t possible because we were angled and on the opposite side of the sunrise.
The furniture is so dated and filthy. The pics make it look so much nicer than it is. The couch was so uncomfortable to sit on. It doesn’t even look like the same one from the pics. The green chairs in the living room are so dirty and one other chair is torn at the bottom.
One of the bedroom doorknobs didn’t lock or turn, another bedroom doorknob was loose, the kitchen sink handle was loose, the towel rack in the hall bathroom was barely hanging on the wall, the door handle to the microwave was loose as well. The master bathroom bathtub floor was spongy and looked dirty.
The biggest downfall was that the kid area (with the slide and tiki theme) wasn’t even accessible. Honestly, this is the ONLY reason we chose this resort. I feel like if it wasn’t working, the owner or management should inform guests. I wouldn’t have stayed here had I known this area wasn’t working. We would have booked The Dunes. I asked the front desk staff and they had no info about it. We paid more for this resort than we have previously for others and the amenities were significantly less.
The staff in the gift shop and the breakfast buffet were amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious and such a good deal. I highly recommend that.
The gaming area was another downfall. The pics look NOTHING like that. One pool table is missing all the balls. Several machines took our change. The others took preloaded cards, and those were fine. Overall it just wasn’t very clean.
The pool area was actually okay. Clean and heated. Towels were always available.
Needless to say, this will not be a resort or room we book again. Lesson learned the hard way.
