"Clearly room 133 wasn't used for the photo shoot for the "luxury king room". The carpet by the bed was lifted to create a small speed bump/trip hazard. One of the faucet handles came off due to a missing screw. The drain wouldn't stay up so the sink clogged. The lighting in the room is very dim, which is a benefit so you can't see the stains and overall grossness of the carpet. The smoke detector battery was adjacent but not in the detector. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was a pretty good layer of dust on the nightstand. All the gold plated crap is an assault on the eyes. Breakfast was also disappointing. There seems to be a lack of basic maintenance in addition to needing updating and a deep clean. This was a disappointing splurge, I regret wasting money on this place. Since there does seem to be mixed reviews, maybe some rooms are better cared for or they're not legit reviews. I will never stay here again & regret the waste of money for a place that falls far below expectations."

"Perfect cabin and experience! You will not regret staying here! I didn't want to leave. Very considerate and friendly host. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin! "
"We really enjoyed our stay at Trout Creek Cabin. It is located in a very small, quiet, tree lined community about 20 minutes outside of the town of Payson. We appreciated the location because it's just far enough outside of town to boast that "getaway" feel.We really appreciated the many super cute wood carved bears & beavers, as well as all the cabin signs & decorations both inside & out. You definitely experience a "cabin vibe".We didn't need for anything, they had it all & then some. Plus, it was clean! They provide a nice propane BBQ, outdoor couch with cute pillows, fire pit, chairs & string lights for ambiance. Inside you'll find plenty of games, 2 televisions with service, a nice couch with slide-out feet rests, a comfy chair & automan, plenty of games, a wood stove with wood, a nice binder with local & pertinent information, a fully stocked kitchen (you provide the food), closets, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, soaps, a washer, a dryer with soap pods w/ wool dryer balls & even a first aide kit. Basically you'll find almost everything you might need. The cabin was quite enjoyable! We definitely recommend! The only thing we would say is "watch out for spiders" both inside & outside in the yard. It is a cabin in the mountains, so we weren't upset or surprised, but there were a few & couple of them were a bit bigger. "

"Fantastic hot tub and outdoor space with fireplace. Enjoyed bird watching and seeing elk. The place was very clean, cozy and well stocked with the basics. There were a lot of good restaurants and hiking nearby."
Cozy 2-bedroom cabin in beautiful Strawberry/Pine with AC, WiFi, Hot tub, deck.

"I’m absolutely in love with this property. I stayed for two nights with my dogs, and from the moment we arrived, the cabin felt peaceful, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. Everything from the thoughtful welcome snacks to the charming Coca-Cola themed decor, wood beam ceilings, and propeller-style ceiling fans created the perfect relaxing cabin atmosphere. The large sliding glass doors leading out to the wraparound deck were one of my favorite features. The views are beautiful whether you’re inside or outside, and the hot tub — although an older model — was fantastic and very well maintained. Sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night felt absolutely heavenly. There are also so many cute shops and great restaurants nearby, which made the location even better. I visited Fossil Creek Farms just up the road and bought a loaf of fresh sour dough bread, a jar of homemade strawberry jam and breakfast burrito - so delicious! Communication with Gary and a Sandy was easy from start to finish. They were kind enough to send recommendations for dog-friendly restaurants and hiking trails in the area, which I really appreciated. I even had the chance to meet Sandy briefly while packing up to leave, and she was just as warm and welcoming in person. This was such a relaxing, comfortable stay, and I am already looking forward to when I can come back again."

"The cabin and property are lovely. If you're looking for privacy and quiet and a place to enjoy nature, this is it. We saw elk from the deck every day. The Pine Trailhead and restaurants are a mile away and Tonto Natural Bridge is a 10 minute drive. We've stayed in a lot of rentals and this was one of the best."
"Our stay at Norsk Haus was honestly next level. From the moment we walked in, you can tell every detail was intentionally designed—clean, modern, but still warm and inviting. It has that perfect luxury-meets-cozy vibe that makes you not want to leave.
The space was spotless, beautifully styled, and had everything we needed (and then some). The attention to detail really stands out—this isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience. Whether you’re there to relax, unplug, or just enjoy a peaceful getaway, this place delivers.
The atmosphere is quiet and private, which made it feel like our own little escape. It was the perfect weekend reset.
We’ll 100% be back—and honestly, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something elevated, unique, and actually worth it."
