Mt. Shosha

I travel often and this is one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed in. The breakfast selection was fantastic with a great variety of items as well as having a very helpful, attentive staff that kept everything well-stocked. There are three restaurants on the property (reservations are recommended) and we ate at the teppanyaki restaurant. My family and I agreed it was the best meal we've ever had. We had a room for three and while it was a little cramped with three beds and our luggage, we weren't there to spend time in the hotel and were perfectly fine during the time we did spend in the room. The heated toilet/bidet made me wish mine at home was the same, and they gave bottles of water every day as well as toothbrushes, mouthwash, headbands, razors, etc. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Even when our delivery service did not send chopsticks/utensils for our food, the front desk helped locate forks for me so that we would be able to enjoy our meal. Every request was accommodated. There is also a convenience store located below the first floor that has a great selection of grab-and-go items. We stopped there almost every day for drinks and/or rice balls before setting out for the day. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Dontonbori as well as another shopping district that has high-end shops as well as casual clothing and a secondhand store. There are restaurants and cafes everywhere, with some being open 24 hours. Highly recommend!

One thing I don’t like is there is additional charge for the hot spring access.

Wonderful apart-hotel, stayed 5 nights and did a day-trip to Hiroshima. Hotel was clean, everything worked, we used the washer-dryer every day, There are 2 subway lines a short walk away, lots of restaurants, temples, shrines and gardens you can walk to. Helpful front-desk staff, a free shuttle to the golden temple, discount on the chopstick making excursion which was fun, a perfect stay in a perfect hotel!
