Book your next extended family vacation or friends getaway in this gorgeous, large log cabin, tucked in the pine trees on the 1,626 acre Lake Shamineau! This property boasts beautiful views on one of the cleanest spring-fed lakes in Minnesota with a bonus island view, and is a quick 2-hour drive away from the Twin Cities and 1-hour from St. Cloud. Sleeps up to 14 in 3 bedrooms (two rooms with a queen-sized bed and one with a king-size bed), a large loft (with 1 queen-sized bed and 6 twins), and 1 pullout sofa. The exterior bunkhouse has 2 full-sized beds and can be used in the summer months.

Pass the day away taking in a slice of nature with swimming off the dock, lounging by the lake, fishing (Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Sunfish, Muskie), kayaking (2 provided), paddle boating, playing pool or foosball, or by relaxing on the boathouse deck to watch the sunset. Listen for the call of the loons as you soak in the beauty. Bring your own boat to tie up to our dock or rent our 2024 Godfrey 22 ft pontoon! And to top it off, if you desire a day out, within a short 15-35 minute drive, you can play golf, mini-golf, go-cart, go to a water park, go horseback riding, or visit numerous restaurants. If you are lucky, you might see the Northern Lights!

There are multiple entertainment areas, perfect for spending time together, as well as space to spread out and have some privacy. The cabin includes board games, bean bag toss, croquet, Kubb yard game, free high-speed wi-fi, a firestick on each of 3 TV’s (just bring your streaming account login and password), and movies with a DVD player. It includes 3 separate living room areas, a dining room, laundry room, and kitchen with a Kuerig and all the cooking/baking items you’ll need. There are 4 exterior decks including a spacious boathouse deck with expansive views, a main deck with a lakeview, a master deck off a bedroom, and a deck on the bunkhouse. The patio is perfect for evening bonfires (wood is complimentary), smores, and lots of laughter. The cabin has 2 full bathrooms, both with a shower and one with a bathtub.

Room for 4 cars maximum to be parked on property. Smoking is NOT allowed, and sorry, no pets as we have beautiful wood floors milled from trees on the property plus an allergy in the family.

There are 4 security cameras on the exterior of the property that will only be viewed in the event of injury or damage.

We had a fantastic experience at this property. The home was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities we could have asked for. We took advantage of the pontoon available and had a blast. It was clear that a lot of thought went into making guests feel comfortable. The host was incredibly responsive and welcoming, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. I was very impressed with the welcome book that was put together. Highly recommend this place — we’d definitely stay here again!

Very easy check-in process. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The pantry had many shelves to store our things as well. The cabin had ample room for all 10 of us. Very comfy beds. Grandkids loved the lake (tubing, kayak and paddle boat) and when not in the water played pool and foosball. We all enjoyed the use of the beautiful pontoon as well.Great place to stay !

Overall, our family had a wonderful time at this property. A small glitch in check-in resulted in immediate communication and resolution. We have only used Vrbo a couple of times, so are not well-versed in the process etc. The hosts are well prepared for your stay, accommodating to your needs, and responsive to any questions. The loft was a favorite for the kids as was the water "toys" down at the dock and lake. From am to pm, they enjoyed pontoon rides, fishing and swimming. The kitchen & living area layout worked well for our large group and having lots of fridge space was MUCH appreciated. We also enjoyed the pontoon rental - top notch. We would love to make a return visit next summer! It did not disappoint.

We had family ranging from ages 2-69, and we all enjoyed ourselves throughly, despite the sad circumstances of being in the area for a funeral. It was amazing to be able to all be together during this difficult time. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing, and playing in the sand. They had plenty of games to keep the kids busy when inside, and there was so much room for us all to cozy up and make ourselves at home. The host was incredible to work with and very responsive! They provided everything we could need down to shampoo and conditioner. There was ample kitchen space and three fridges total for all the food and drinks we needed. All the dishes and appliances you could need are provided (even a crockpot). There was plenty of towels for everyone, and the washer and dryer allowed us to do much needed laundry. I left the cabin with all my laundry done which made unpacking and settling back in at home that much easier. If you have little ones, some pressure gates to block off the stairs might be good to bring with along with a highchair and pack and play. And don't forget life jackets! My husband is disabled, and used a combination mobility aids to get around (mostly wheelchair on the main floor and his cane to navigate stairs). There are a lot of stairs to get into the property and down to the lake just as an FYI. But the bathrooms and bedrooms are all on the main floor (only accessible by stairs) and it is hardwood flooring throughout the main floor.

Family Gathering

Our family had the best weekend at your beautiful lake home. The views were amazing and we had fun indoors and out - Kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, yard games, and games indoors. The house had plenty of space for all 13 of us to be together or find our own quiet areas. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom had all the essentials and more! Fantastic fall stay! 🍂

Our group (four adults, five kids) had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The kids adored sleeping in the loft, playing plenty of games, and having their own space for movie nights. The grown ups enjoyed it all, but especially catching up while taking in the gorgeous lake views. Thanks to Tracey for being a great host!

Cabin Trip

The host and cabin were amazing! Had a very good time. Neighbors and people at another lake weren’t the nicest and had some racist remarks towards my family but that is completely outside of the cabin. Amazing communication with host and she was so nice with everything. Cabin fit us all and had beautiful views.

Cozy Cabin

We had a large group of friends stay at the cabin. We were all impressed with how nice it was. The main level layout is fantastic, lots of room to spread out, yet still be together. The beds were comfortable! The kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms were well stocked. Tracey was great to work with, quick to respond, flexible and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this adorable cabin in the woods.

50th anniversary family celebration

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely cabin on the lake. We enjoyed water skiing, kneeboarding, fishing and kayaking. The kitchen was well stocked and everyone slept great. This setting is appealing to all ages and was a wonderful memory. Thank you so much!

Family vacation

Every year we take our kids and their families, along with my wife’s parents on a summer vacation. This is our 5th year doing so and it was hands down our favorite spot. The home is beautifully decorated and the space is very user friendly and feels like home. We enjoyed all the fun amenities that were provided for us, including the use of a new pontoon boat located right at our dock. Plenty of yard games, as well as inside games were generously provided for our use. The owners were extremely accommodating and willing to communicate with us. We will definitely be back. The best experience we ever had! We loved it all!

Instantly we all fell in love with the place, instantly we all felt like it was home. Everything was amazing! The kitchen was fully stocked and their was so much seating areas it was nice for all of us to spread out and enjoy our times. It was also private and cozy. It felt like everything was thought of to make the perfect stay!! Everyone throughly loved it and want to come back again, possible in the summer or fall. Incredible experience for large friend group!

Cousins Trip (5 families)

This was our first time booking a cabin together and we loved it. The cabin was perfect for us, even with 11 adults and 14 kids (ranging from 6 months - 7 years old). There ended up being plenty of room for everyone and our larger number was approved by the owners (thank you!). The cabin was clean, very well decorated, functional and just overall, a beautiful place to stay! We would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for the many memories made!

Beautiful!

Such a beautiful spot! House fit all of us comfortably. Yard was a little bit hard for the little guys (4 under 4 years of age) to run but they did!! Mornings spent out on the sun deck was so peaceful. And time on the lake was priceless. We would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Family Getaway

Beautiful cabin! Our stay included my siblings and parents with our spouses and young adults kids. The sleeping options were ideal for our crew, all 13 of us. The cabin was just as described and well appointed with everything you would need. My one suggestion to future renters, you may want to bring slippers. The tile and wood floors got chilly with the floor and baseboard vents. We definitely would come back to this cabin! Tracey was great to work with and a proactive hostess. Thank you, Tracey and family for sharing your cabin with our family. Many new memories were made while we reminisced and shared our family history of Lake Shamineau with the next generation.

Great Place to Stay

Had everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked. Outdoor area was nice. The house was very nice. Bunk house was fun for one of our family members. Plenty of games available. Lake was awesome. The ladder off the side of the dock was so nice for the younger kids to be able to get in and out of the lake on their own. Owners were very responsive and easy to work with.Lake Area Adventures was one of the pontoon rental recommendations and they were very accommodating, super responsive, and a pleasure to work with.

Cabin and lot and lake were the perfect combination to create a masterpiece vacation

This gorgeous cabin and lot on a big, clean, quiet lake was the ideal spot for our family vacation. It was spotless when we arrived and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, tableware, linens, dish and hand soap, garbage bags, and plenty of refrigerator space. There is no dishwasher but it was not an issue for us: we tended to use paper plates, and the sink is in the island so it was no problem to do the dishes while still getting in your version of the cabin story. The two bathrooms are not big but both have showers and are stocked with bathing supplies - soap, shampoo, cream rinse, and there's soap for the sink, too. The bedrooms/beds are also not big, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are in the back of the house so provide privacy. The loft has plenty of beds but is open to the main level living room and kitchen so privacy is limited. It also has exposure to the windows across the front of the cabin, which provide an amazing view of the lake but do not provide darkness between dawn and dusk. There are plenty of linens for everyone, and lots of board/card games, and both a pool and a foosball table (and several tvs), but we mostly were outside riding on the rented pontoon or jumping from the dock or paddling on the kayak or lying on air mattresses or sitting on the deck above the boathouse or digging in the sand with pails and shovels building trails for the kids' monster trucks. We loved our vacay in the log cabin on Lake Shamineau!

Awesome cabin for our family get away!

Our trip to Tracey's beautiful log cabin on Lake Shamineau was the perfect place for our family get away and many fond memories were made! From the 1st time we contacted Tracey to when we checked out, she was always prompt in getting back to us and answering any questions we had. The Cabin was beautiful!! It had everything and more that our family was in need of! The beds were very comfortable, the loft area was perfect for all of the grandchildren and us, each family had a bedroom and the grandsons slept in the mini cabin that they just loved and appreciated having a place of their own. The cabin was spacious enough for all of us, and the grandkids loved being able to play foosball table in the loft area or watch a movie downstairs before heading outside for a bonfire. The firepit area was used every night for bonfires and smores and everyday was spent by the water - swimming, kayaking and paddle boating. The kitchen was very well stocked with any kind of utensil and appliance we needed, and it was spacious enough for several of us to cook meals together. There were 2 extra refrigerators in the garage that we made use of for extra food that each family brought. Being we were a large group we were concerned about having enough towels but no worry! Not only did Tracey supply many towels and hand towels, but also washcloths specifically for makeup for those of us who needed one, along with shampoo and conditioner to use. Thank you, Tracey, for everything!!

50th Wedding Anniversary Family Time

We found the ideal property to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The log home was the perfect size to accommodate the adult children and grandchildren. The kids loved the big loft space and the adults enjoyed the various hang out spaces. The kitchen had everything we needed to make family meals. The property was impeccable and the grounds were as well. Tracey communicated well and provided a helpful booklet at check-in. Lake Shamineau was lovely and pretty quiet! We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed cruising around the lake with family. We took several trips to what we called "turtle cove" on the kayaks. Most importantly, the property served as the perfect backdrop for the family to celebrate mom & dad's 50th wedding anniversary and create new, fond memories.
