The Toccoa and Ocoee Rivers and Lake Blue Ridge offer everything from whitewater rafting, kayaking, and canoeing to fly-fishing and relaxing floats. Lake Blue Ridge Marina in Morganton provides a full selection of rentals, and guests are welcome to bring their own boats or equipment—on-site parking is available. Don’t miss swimming at Morganton Swim Beach or crossing the iconic Swinging Bridge over the Toccoa River.
The area is also a hiker’s paradise, with year-round trails including sections of the legendary Appalachian Trail. Many routes lead to hidden waterfalls, and for sweeping views, visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in three states. A ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is especially popular during fall foliage season.
