It is in a beautiful setting. The people who run it are very friendly. It’s a little quirky, in a fun sort of way, in that the toilet and bedroom is all in one, there are industrial metal stairs to get to the top suite, and it’s kind of a romantic setting.

Such an incredible stay at Flor de Bromelia! It's a family run hotel and everyone was super helpful and attentive. Breakfast was different each day and the views are amazing, and we even saw monkeys in the trees and round our cabin. It's 10 minutes to walk downhill to town and really easy to get a cheap taxi back. Nothing bad to say about this hotel, it was a wonderful stay and we'd love to return!

Wir hatten ein Panoramazimmer, leider haben wir nicht sehr viel gesehen, da noch ein Haus vor uns war. Es war rustikal mit einem gewissen Charme. Beim Boden musste man aufpassen, dass man nicht ausrutscht, da er sehr glatt war und etwas hing. Die Gastgeber geben sich sehr viel Mühe und sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sophia hat uns einen sehr guten Tipp für eine Kaffeetour gegeben und diese auch für uns gebucht. Die Lage ist traumhaft, wenn auch die Anfahrt etwas abenteuerlich ist, aber das ist in Monteverde überall so.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful property with a great view. The room was exactly what we needed for a one night stay while in Monteverde. The gentleman that checked us in gave us a few dinner recommendations. We went to one of them and it was great! The breakfast was great. Very fresh food. The staff was very nice. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this to anyone.

What a gem! Cost was totally reasonable- particularly given the quality of the included breakfast. The rooms were clean, the hostel enjoys beautiful views and you get a sense like you are nestled in the mountain. The only downside is that it is a 15 min walk to most restaurants and you need to either drive or take a VERY steep walk up the hill to return from town. That said, lovely spot and worth the walk for the quiet it allows. Wait staff at hotel could not be kinder or more gracious We enjoyed every moment in this special spot.

The staff are amazing. It’s not far from the commerce and restaurants. Good breakfast. Beautiful view. Bad things: we could hear our neighbors all the time, even if they were just talking. Needs some noise cancelation insulation. No TV and no AC.

Fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgeable and Extremely helpful staff, arranging bookings for all surrounding activities at no extra coast, full of good tips! There is a glorious view all the way till the ocean with breathtaking sunset, animals all over the place ( capuchin monkeys, coatis, peccary, humming birds...) nice breakfast, yummy home made jam! Very charming and spacious cabin/lodge. I would happily go back anytime!

This property is BEAUTIFUL and incredible value for money! The view is gorgeous and the family who owns the hotel is so kind and lovely. They provide a delicious breakfast, and they even drove us to an ATM and offered to drive us into town. It’s not a far walk otherwise, just uphill on the way back. We also were walked to a nearby restaurant, Koora, which was incredible. The beds were comfy, the room is spacious, and our balcony was perfect. I would stay here again in the future.

I wish I could give this place a rave review because the family who owns it was so friendly and helpful, but it did not live up to our expectations in ways other than the good service. Our "panoramic view" room did not have a panoramic view. This was rated a 4-star hotel, but really isn't one. Our room was rustic, smelled musty, and the bed clothes were old. The breakfast was good, and there were lots of animals and birds on the grounds, and there was a lovely view, just not from our room.

This hotel was quite a treat. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice. The room was modest, but perfect for our family of 4. The view from our balcony was amazing. It had a nice little kitchen with a small refrigerator. There were no screens for the windows, but we didn’t have a need for them. We saw lots of wildlife around the property. Our only gripe was a lack of hot water in the shower. We stayed one night and had a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place. The view was unbeatable, rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. The host family was super friendly, breakfast was so fresh. The property is surrounded by wildlife, agutis, birds, monkeys, coatis... Our son loved coati Charlie, and we've already missed this place.

This was such a gem of a place! The view was absolutely amazing - you could see down the valley, and then all the way to the ocean. The room was clean and spacious, with floor to ceiling windows on three sides. It's such a quiet area and I was happy that we were up high (even though the hills are steep!) rather than in the center of town, which seemed very busy, with lots of hotels and restaurants and stores packed in tightly. The views are amazing, but the best part of the hotel is the family that runs Flor de Bromelia. They're all so friendly. Sophia was a great help planning tours/making recommendations and was accessible on WhatsApp as well. Fabrizio was great and walked us over to the Hotel Kooka restaurant across the way (highly recommend their cocktails!). Sophia's mother (I don't think I caught her name) made delicious breakfasts, and her father, David was terrific – all around helpful, and introduced us to the wild aguti and coati who live nearby and gave them bananas for breakfast, so that we could watch them as we ate our breakfast, too! The whole family made us feel like family and we had a lovely stay. Highly recommend this place!
