Such a Friendly family run business! Food was amazing, make sure you eat in their restaurant.
Was on a business trip alone, and would definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.
Very much a family hotel. Lots of pride taken by servers, bar staff and owners. Only draw back is the street out front at night is very loud with young men.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars
Absolutely amazing place to stay
The guys and girls cannot do enough for you nothing is too much trouble - great few days away
Secure over night parking for motorcycles and cycles.
Stunning Driving, cycling, motorcycling, walking routes on some all mapped out ready to enjoy 😊
Can’t praise the Buccleuch Arms and staff enough
We’ll be again back soon 🙂
Very friendly family owners, nothing was a bother and they are very knowledgeable about the local area, lovely breakfast, didn't have dinner at hotel only because our dog wasn't allowed in, heard it was lovely though, room basic but very clean. We would definitely stay again, our border terrier fell in love with gorgeous boy blue the hotel dog, the owners love dogs. If your visiting the lovely village of Moffat, I would definitely recommend the bucceleugh.
Buccleuch Arms is a very well run hotel.
We got a friendly welcome and our room was very clean. There were good quality biscuits and teabags etc with the hostess tray.
Breakfast and dinner and the preferred timeing needed to be pre ordered but we had no problem with this. The food came out piping hot and it was totally delicious
Our dog was made welcome
Throughout our stay the hotel proprietor was constantly on hand making sure everyone was happy and ready to give advice on things to do and see during our stay. We were very well looked after indeed
I would give the Buccleuch Arms 10 stars if I could.
If you are a biker and riding through Scotland then you MUST stop by. The family are bikers and they understand what you need. They have dry rooms, a map room, locked garages (that you need to reserve in advance).
After a hair raising, trouser staining ride through the snow in Glencoe, I could not have asked for a better welcome. I was early and looking like I had come out of a loch and they could not do enough to make me feel welcome, comfortable and DRY.
The breakfast is also the best Scottish breakfast I have ever had. It is SUPERB!
This was not my first time here and it will not be my last! You don't have to be on your bike for a warm welcome here.
Thank you to everyone at the hotel. It was appreciated.
Buccleuch Arms is a hidden gem! We were in town for a wedding at the local castle and were so impressed. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The owner personally checked on us each morning at breakfast. The room was very clean and was our favorite we stayed in for our two week vacation. The beds were clean and comfortable. The hosts were accommodating and made sure our breakfast seats were close to the coffee pot!
Excellent place to stay on our way to Aberdeenshire. Great for those with a dog. Plenty of nearby walking. Made to feel at home all the staff were extremely friendly and work hard to make the stay an experience.
A great hotel with great service.
The only comment to improve would be have a spread of cereals and breakfast items to choose rather than have to pre-order. No problem with ordering the cooked breakfast.
Brilliant hotel especially for visitors on motorcycles. The owners can't do enough for you and are super friendly. Their dedication to customer service is first class. The food is superb and has a couple of classic South African dishes - very exotic for Moffat! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Breakfast excellent, loo in room dated difficult to flush.
Lovely old hotel in the centre of Moffat. Original features, old windows and shutters, a bit of peeling paint. Great food. Uncompromising. If you want pristine, shiny and modern, or souless over-renovation, go somewhere else. If you like a bit of character and history, come here.
Had a lovely stay. It's a bikers hotel which was great as we love bikes Staff and owner very friendly and helpful. It was my birthday and I came down to breakfast with a birthday banner and sticker on my table with staff wishing me happy birthday, and I was brought out a cupcake with a lighted candle. Also owner came and wished me happy birthday at breakfast.
We were given local routes to explore which owner talked us through. we went on one and area was breathtakingly beautiful. Nothing too much trouble and all staff very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again loved every minute of the stay.
