"I honestly choose a resort, but I accidentally choose this area. However, I would recommend for those who are low budget travelers but who are willing to take a break and rest in their amazing hot springs. They do have hiking trail, but it is the best not to go in the midst of rain. You will slip and get yourself all muddy. I learn that that hard way. You can walk around the town, but honestly, there is not too much to see aside from the church and cemenetry. The church had an interestingsaint...

"this is for the adventerous, dont get scare on the way there the roads are a little rough due to the hotel still being developed. Chef Marcelo is a plus for this hotel and Sol as well. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful."

"This lodge is located off the beaten track. It takes about 20 min to get here from Mindo on a narrow dirt road. The accommodation is basic but nice. Staff is small but very attentive. My cabin was spacious with one queen sized bed and three single beds (two of them in a loft). Nature around the lodge is beautiful."

"We were so glad we chose the Margarit for our stay in Mindo! Margarita and her staff were wonderful hosts who made sure all our needs were met. Our room was lovely, sparkling clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts and other meals were great. The location was perfect - nestled in the trees, allowing us to watch birds from our room and from the lobby, but within easy walking distance from town.

"Manuela is so friendly, accomodating & helpful! We enjoyed a few walks into Mindo center from the location & even from Mariposa Butterfly back. It feels safe, convenient & authentic. We enjoyed some lemongrass tea from the garden (on invitation to use the garden fruit & herbs) The Yumbosa Chocolate tour in town is a treat as well. Thank you!"

"Staff were accommodating and helpful, Games room for the kids included ping pong and PlayStation. We had the pool all to ourselves in the evening. Breakfast buffet is one of the best in the city. Rooms came with magazine and were clean. Minutes walk to Quicentro and La Carolina park. Highly recommended!"
"Very friendly and welcoming. The stuff are doing everything to confort you. A true service you can expect from a Hotel. The price was significantly lower than other hotels at the same level. I believe it was because of the ongoing construction but we didn't see or hear anything construction related. "
"The location was great. The staff were all very helpful. The room was nice and had an excellent view of the city. The breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay there again if I am ever back in Quito. It was perfect for what we needed. "
"Rooms are clean but have no heating option and this is part of Ecuador where it's normal for 16-18 degrees C high during the day. As a result - you have to wear layers even when inside your room due to the open concept what most windows are nets only. I understand that the idea was that you listen to the forest fauna but that can be done from the balcony, inside I would prefer comfort (or an option to open the window if I really want to hear the forest).
Restaurant was a hit or miss. Breakfast was good consistantly, but the dinner we went once and there we go: 1) table cloth was full of ants (changed upon request), 2) when food came mine was a wrong order (I accepted what was brought as I didn't want to have an hour wait for correct order) 3) when the food came it was barely warm, probably few degrees above room temperature. As a result remaining nights we were dining in town. Keep in mind we had a car so wasn't much of a problem going back and forth. I wouldn't do it on foot. "
