While Maison Lezard boasts a stunning location in one of Mexico City's most beautiful neighborhoods, several serious issues marred our stay.
Most concerning was being double-charged for our room. Despite showing clear credit card statements as evidence, staff dismissed our concerns for 4 days before finally acknowledging via a WhatsApp text that it was their payment system's error. This should have been easily verifiable through their payment records; if they keep financial records, a simple check would have shown they charged us both at booking and again at check-in. Instead, they repeatedly denied the possibility until finally admitting their error. No formal apology was made in person, which felt unprofessional given the stress this caused during our vacation.
The room had multiple unaddressed maintenance issues: constant bathroom dripping noise, poorly installed glass doors that clashed dangerously (reported Day 1, never fixed), and lighting so dim we needed phone flashlights for basic tasks like applying makeup. The front security door remained broken throughout our stay, and staff sent excessive daily WhatsApp messages - unnecessary contact during vacation.
The beautiful historic building and prime location earn 3 stars, but given the payment issues, maintenance problems, and dismissive service - plus numerous other hotels in the area - it's difficult to recommend.
