Initially the hotel had us marked down for a 3 night stay instead of the 4 we booked. The room at first glance was nice and spacious but lacking in some basic amenities.
However the main problem for us was noise. We stayed in room 406. This room backs on to a nightclub which runs until 4am. Additionally, we were next to the breakfast room which they begin setting up around 6am. So between the booming music and clanging of plates etc you have a two hour window to get some reasonable sleep.
Also, breakfast offering was fairly basic. You are better of trying some of the local cafes.
I would definitely NOT recommend this place.
Loved our stay, location was very convenient and walkable with so many fantastic dining options of all price points. Staff and service was efficient and courteous. Great stay for someone staying for a few days and planning to be out of the room most of the time.
The hotel shares the building with a bakery (Le Pain Quotidien) located in the lobby, which significantly impacts the overall experience. This setup restricts access from the side entrance, and the constant noise from staff and customers can be very disruptive in the rooms. Additionally, the reception area is somewhat hidden on the first floor, which may be confusing upon arrival.
Other than that, the hotel is modest but very well located.
If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is not the right hotel for you. However, if you’re seeking an affordable option and can handle (and sleep through) heavy noise, then it can be a good choice.
The hotel offered a great value for what I received. Excellent location, friendly staff and clean facility. I loved that there was many places nearby in walkable distance.
the room was as pictured and had a great view of El Angel, as well as ample space. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was a great touch!
Prime location and very walkable.
The entrances were a bit difficult to find but we discovered 1) an alleyway side entrance with an elevator 2) an entrance through Le pain quotidien with a staircase to the hotel lobby
The hotel is in a nice area , but there is to much noice , staff is excellent, clean room . Don’t like the noice in the area, there is a club next to the hotel that open Friday and Saturday , very loud . We were able to sleep because our room was on the other side. Did not like the breakfast but the cafe downstairs is excellent. The Starbucks also is very good . A lot of restaurants nearby.
The stay was great, loved the room, the bathroom is huge, the only thing is that the rooms are missing a refrigerator, I need to drink cold water in the middle of the night and I couldn't, I loved everything else, like the guy downstairs is like protecting the guests
The location is perfect for us as it is near to night life area and restaurants. The staffs are nice and helpful. They acknowledged the VIP amenities (free wine) but not the upgrade but we understand that this is based on room availability so it is OK. They clean the room everyday even without requesting. I will come back
Customer Service was not good when you request for towels or anything else they give you the runaround and ignore you.
Besides all that good walking distance for food and much more.
check in was smooth and only lacked my free bottle of wine upon check in. Housekeeping did not stock toilet paper and we ran out of toilet paper in our room and called front desk for restock and they did not answer.
The location of the hotel is great. The downside of the great location is that it is super loud overnight. There was noise until 4am on the weekend from bars and clubs across the street. The elevator did not work for most of the stay. The bed was comfortable but there were no additions that are common in hotels in Canada and the United States (mini fridge, full length mirror, or even a Kleenex box). There was an issue with the toilet around midnight on one of the nights of the stay. We were told it was "impossible" to fix until 7am the next morning. When asked how we would use the toilet if required, there was no response. Overall, the standard of this hotel is not what I expected coming from Canada and the level of customer service was far below what we normally expect.
The property is located in a great gay area near several great eats, starbucks and a great cafe. You must be aware that this is a boutique style hotel and not a larger brand hotel so there are many things lacking such as housekeeping was poor; they would forget to leave towels or toilet paper, things that were not supposed to be tossed out it would be gone. If you stay on the 4th floor with balconies make sure you request the street view which the rooms are 405 and 406. Otherwise you will get a view of the loud construction zone that no one mentioned that starts at 6am til late evenings. Also the 4th floor has a gathering space that attracts guests at all hours of the night which gets very loud. The noise is heard real clear if you are staying on that floor because the doors have large gaps on the bottom and the light and noise goes through very clearly. Also there is a cool bar eight next door that you can hear everyone ainging along to the music but also extremely loud that you will hear it all night sibce bars dont close until after 5am. Bring earplugs like I did. The hotel attendans are a mix. There is a gentleman there who is super nice, gives you great service and gives uou great places near by to eat, see or visit, but the heavy set receptionist with the crazy make up is rude and dismissive. Overall this is an ok hotel for the price but the rooms are way too small, there is a lot of great things near there to walk to but the accommodations lack so much.
