"We loved it here. This was the last stop before we were heading back home so we just needed a place to stay for 2 nights. Unexpectedly my favourite accommodation of our entire trip. Host was very kind and helpful, he designed the entire place himself. You can tell he put a lot of thought and care into the place. Close proximity to the airport, AC was working, fast wifi, water pressure in the sink and shower were great. They had 2 parking spots but we were able to park on the street and it always...

She was the highlight of our stay because she was so amazing. We had to leave super early in the morning and she brought us bananas, cookies, and juice for the road. Please give her a raise and bonus because she is the kindest, hardworking soul. We plan to return because of her! She made our stay feel like home. "

"This is a beautiful place. After a week of travelling around Costa Rica, this was a quiet and restful place to prepare for our trip home. The birds and butterflies were very busy in the morning, and the view is very beautiful. It is located less than one hour from the San Jose airport, and the town of San Ramon has many options for dining. The hosts were excellent, and a delicious typical Costa Rican breakfast was provided, including perfect gallo pinto. I highly recommend Casa Amanecer."

"Ken and Alejandra have built a mountain paradise. The accommodations are first rate and their grounds are amazing. The breakfasts are excellent with fresh grown and made foods. It is more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel. They are in the mountains north of San Jose. We had a rental car and no problems moving around. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Finca Paraiso!"

"We chose this hotel because of its short distance to the hotel and the good reviews. Overall, we liked the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. What we did not like is the fact they charge a substantial fee for late arrival (we arrived around 11pm). We also felt pressured when we inquired about renting a car with them, and decided not to since they could not send a contract."

"Villa Serenidad exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful home and the view is wonderful. We really liked watching the cows and calves next door and meeting Iggy the iguana. The people of Atenas and all of Costa Rica are welcoming and so helpful with those who are not at all fluent in Spanish! I don't think we ever had even close to a bad meal either!
