We don't recommend booking at Hotel Barone Di Mare in the first week of October, as it was largely shut down, with only a skeleton crew. The pool had algae build up. And booking through Expedia, we were not informed that the bar, restaurant and beach shuttle were all not operating this late in the season. The staff was kind and helpful as possible, despite these conditions. It was just us, a few other guests and the cats...

Hotellihuoneet ovat siistejä ja moderneja. Kuntosalilla on monitoimilaitetta lomakuntoiluun ja uima-allasalue on kiva. Hotellin juna vie rannalle melko usein. Aamiaiselta puuttuu tuoreet vihannekset ja kasvikset ja tarjolla on vain automaattikahvia. Mikäli et ole tilannut all inclusive aterioita, hotellilla on lähes mahdotonta syödä lounasta, baarissa ei ole tarjolla mitään sipsejä täyttävämpää. Illallinen tai lounas erikseen ostettuna maksaa 40 €/hlö ja menu ei todella ole sen arvoinen. Hotellilta on 20 min kävely palvelujen äärelle ja julkinen liikenne kulkee hotellin ohi tunnin/kahden välein. Jos toivot lomalta vain hotellissa ajanviettoa ja siellä syömistä, sitä saa tästä paikasta. Muussa tapauksessa joudut näkemään vaivaa että pääset syömään ja näkemään ympäristöä. Henkilökunta antaa ohjeita pyydettäessä, mutta 4 tähden palveluun on vielä pitkä matka.

Overall the stay was good and relaxing. The beach is not as portrayed, it was grubby and overcrowded, the sea was clean clear water. The food choices at both breakfast and dinner were varied and good, however hot options were never hot at best tepid. The bar was very good, but the music was very loud and not to everyone’s taste; it was difficult to sit quietly and read or hold a conversation. The pool area was excellent and the spa was good . You definitely need transport to visit surrounding towns or restaurants, the road is unsafe to walk, especially after dark.

Not a great experience at all

Rooms are spacious and clean with incredible stone work. They do lack of basic appliances like microwave coffe machine utensils iron and the wifi is weak. The swimming pool is a great must have since we are not within walking distance to the beach. The negative were from the start: the parking area and the check it desk are not connected. If you are carrying luggages prepare yourself for a sweat. There is no bell boy service or a simple trolley, strange for a 4 stars hotel. At the consierge, they did not have my reservation from hotel.com. they made me wait one full hour where the manager did not greet me nor did apologize for the inconveniences. I went to the bar for some refreshment which it was denied because I did not check in yet and didn't have a bracelet. Back to the desk they offered me a bracelet that I needed to charge with $20 instead of offering me a drink for the long wait. After one hour (and I am with my wife and 5yo) the manager directed the staff to assign me a room and left again without aknowledge me at all. Instead of any apologize or upgrades they assigned me to the farthest suite which is opposit of what I requested online (as close as possible to the swimming pool). What else can go wrong? Breakfast is poor in quality and chaotic. Dinner seems a basic buffet. They do lack of proper customer service training as a 4 stars hotel should. It proves that regardless of a beautiful structure what can ruin your vacation are the people that run the place

Très beau centre de vacances

Beau resort, rénové avec goût, un certain luxe, et souci du détail, chambres immenses… le confort est au rendez-vous ! Petit déjeuner copieux et varié mais de qualité ordinaire, mais accueil très sympathique ! Une bonn expérience.
