"Our stay was very disappointing overall, and unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel.
The main reason we booked this accommodation was for the pool, as we were celebrating my son’s birthday during our 3 days and 2 nights stay. Prior to arrival, we were informed that the pool would reopen on the second day of our stay. However, upon arrival, there was a memo at r that the construction had been extended and the pool area would remain closed. We were never informed ahead of time, even though the hotel had the opportunity to contact us before we traveled two hours by car with a toddler. Had we known earlier, we would have considered rescheduling or cancelling our booking.
What made the experience even more frustrating was how the situation was handled by management. The manager did not acknowledge the inconvenience caused, nor was there any apology or proper explanation. Instead, we were given a cold “it is what it is” attitude before he simply walked away. A complimentary voucher was offered, but it did not address the disappointment and inconvenience we experienced.
Because the weather was cold and windy, the pool was supposed to be the main activity for our family during the stay. Without it, we were unable to truly enjoy our vacation.
In addition, the bathroom door in our room would not stay closed properly because there was no lock or mechanism to keep it shut. We reported the issue, but no action was taken during our stay.
Overall, this was not a pleasant experi"

Escape to Island Paradise - Clearwater Bay, L.O.T.W.

" A quiet and beautiful retreat from the day to day. You are removed from the hustle and bustle of life. We came for some fishing and bonding time and were not disappointed. It took me back to my younger days when get aways and camping trips were simpler. Great hosts and hospitality."
"We had a wonderful weekend stay at The Lazy Bear Cabin. Although it’s not right by a beach or mountain, the location was very convenient—just a short drive from the city and not far from Falcon Lake or White Hawk. At first, we were a little concerned about its proximity to the highway, but once inside the cabin, we couldn’t hear any traffic at all.The cabin itself is cute, cozy, and homey, with the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern touches. It was well-stocked with ample towels and bedding, which made our stay extra comfortable. We especially appreciated the added bonuses of WiFi and a hot tub—both of which made relaxing at the cabin even more enjoyable. The hosts were excellent, providing detailed information ahead of time and being available right away to answer any questions or concerns. Their attentiveness really added to the ease of our stay.Overall, The Lazy Bear Cabin was a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, well-appointed cabin not too far from the city."
Rare Beachfront Cabin in Clearwater Bay, only 25 min from Kenora. Pet friendly!
6/10 Okay
"The web site is not correct. There is one king one queen and 2 single beds. There are two sets of bunks but one top bunk is very close to the ceiling fan. The cabin down the hill has two full size beds but no water or bathroom. The kitchen is non functioning. If you sleep there and need a bathroom you have to walk up a hill and at least one flight of stairs. The extra parking is down a steep hill with space for three cars up by the front door.. The air conditioning is a portable unit in the living area and is very noisy. We had a group of 13 with one sleeping on the couch in the living room. We ranged in age from 84 to 10. Not enough plates even for one meal, kettles were all dirty and had to be washed before use. We love to fish and had to clean the fish in the kitchen and could not get an answer as to where to take the fish guts. The fishing was great and it was a beautiful place but needs repair and a good cleaning. He is not getting his monies worth from the cleaning crew. Good docking for boats, good fishing, Safeway was the best for groceries."
