Hello Steve, I am pleased you enjoyed your time at our villa, hopefully we will see you and your family again. Its a shame you did not let me know about the TV during your stay, we arrived the week after you left and found the same issue, the TV system required a five minute routine update, after that it was fine. I fully accept your observation about the interior of the villa. Each season we are always the first and last people to use our villa .At the start of the season it is freshly painted and fully prepared for the summer which is scheduled again for March 2023. We are normally fully booked from May onwards, come the end of the season it is in need of a freshen up again. Best regards Steve

The villa faces South West which means that from May to the end to September the pool gets the sun all day but the house is not in full sun, which keeps it cooler in the full heat of the summer, which is a bonus for us . But regrettably from October onwards, when the sun is lower the house shades part of the pool. Our friend, who looks after the house takes great pride in keeping the pool clean he will be pleased to read your comments.

I am pleased that you acknowledge that the villa is very good and pool spotless it is a shame to hear you did not enjoy your holiday as we make every effort to make our guests stay as enjoyable as possible . The remainder of your review is regrettably a total exaggeration of reality. The one star rating is in direct contradiction to the average of 4.9 star rating received over the past five years. The guests who stayed at the villa either side of your dates (also in the period when shooting is permitted) rated their experience as five and four star with one stating in the review that the villa is in "peaceful and tranquil surroundings" (see review immediately below). From the 1st September to the end of February (when the fields are seeded) farmers are allowed to clear their fields of pigeons . The “war zone” that you describe and felt the need to flee (not only from our villa but the from Cyprus itself) was the local farmer shooting at pigeons half a mile away and not from the olive grove immediately behind our villa as stated. By law he is not allowed to shoot before seven or after dusk, Our experience is that after a few rounds in the morning the birds flee and then there are a few shots in the evening when the birds return just before dusk. We accept this as part to rural village life and something that we or any previous guests have been bothered by or even mentioned in reviews. Your review mentions that we offered to refund the money from the date you contacted me, which is true. This was however not out of any sense of obligation but concern for your health as you advised me that you have a preexisting medical condition and that your anxiety over the sound of gun fire could trigger an attack. I feel that we did everything within our power to assist you and arranged for you to remain at the villa (at no cost) late into the evening of departure due to your flight times. I was somewhat bemused to hear from our guests, who arrived the day after your departure, That you had chained and padlock our double gates together preventing access to our villa. This review does not reflect, in anyway, the experience of any of our previous guests or the effort we have put into ensuring our guest enjoy their stay. I requested it's removal from the HomeAway site- this was declined.

Thank you for writing a review of our villa. Carol and I are now semi retired so are fortunate enough to be able to spend several weeks a year in Cyprus. However in our younger years every day of our annual holidays were very precious to us so we try to make our guests stay as pleasurable as possible. Hello Angela, thank you for your comments and for taking time to write a review. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at our villa. The tiles can get slippery, this time of year as a result of dust from the surrounding fields. When we stay we hose them down daily and recommend to our guests that the do the same. This normally resolves the problem. As an additional safety precaution we now (13 October 2017) have sufficient pool matting to cover the walkway around the pool,should our guest feel the need to use it. We have also updated the pool safety section in the villa information file sent to our guests.
