The Swale at Maunby On the upstream side of the old railway bridge. Walkers, horse riders or cyclists should note that the bridleway which follows this bank crosses the river at the next bend by a 'ford'. Wet suits or sub aqua gear would be recommended, or possibly an 'illegal' crossing of the old railway bridge. Is a telling off preferable to drowning?
