About this property
Architect-designed House on the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site
Our guesthouse is situated on a property of over 2 hectares, right next to the “Noorderleech” nature reserve. It is Europe’s largest salt marsh area and one of the darkest places in the Netherlands—still undiscovered but truly special. In addition to peace and quiet, nature, beautiful starry skies, and thousands of birds, we offer you a glimpse into our art studio. Because we’re a place where artists can also stay for extended periods.
The Space Our guesthouse is the old “barn” of the farm that once stood here. Entirely designed by Stephan (architect), with no compromises made—we’ve done everything we can to create a cozy atmosphere. If you love a touch of retro, this is the place for you! In addition to the spacious rooms (20–34 m²), we’ve created a beautiful living-dining area with an open kitchen. Fully equipped, each room has its own bathroom. One room is accessible for guests with disabilities.
Guest access During your stay, you’ll have the entire house at your disposal, with a private entrance and your own terrace. But if you’d rather spend time on the large terrace, that’s fine too. From there, you can head straight up to our observation tower. At a height of 24 meters, you’ll have a fantastic view of the mudflats.
Other things to keep in mind If you’re arriving by public transportation, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to pick you up at the bus stop in Marrum.
We’re all for a party, but preferably not in our guesthouse, which we’ve renovated and furnished with a lot of love. For the same reason, we don’t think deep-frying, gourmet cooking, fondue, or stone grilling are good ideas.
Located in Marrum, this vacation home is in a rural area and by the sea. Oldehove and Grote Kerk are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Prinsentium and Nes Beach. Jativaka Labyrinth and Fries Natuurmuseum are also worth visiting. Visit our Marrum travel guide
