The staff is amazing! The food is incredible. The accommodations are spectacular. This is a must stay. Be sure to take the permaculture tour as well. Honestly the food is better then the best restaurants in Medellin.

Dangerous Experience ... Spiders & Bugs

We booked a superior bungalow. These rooms are not properly sealed. Our room was crawling with live spiders & bugs and had over a dozen large dead spiders (which means that the room wasn't properly cleaned prior to check-in). We complained to the front desk and were given some oils and a can of bug spray. At night we were woken up by a large moth on our bed. The next day we immediately shifted hotels but were refused a refund on the remaining 3 unused days. Terrible place and terrible attitude of staff. This is literally my 1st complaint ever about a hotel and I have travelled to over 50 countries and had never had such a terrible experience. Note: Colombia has several species of venomous spiders & we were in an area with a high concentration of vegetation.

Un lugar tranquilo con una muy rica oferta gastronómica. Está ubicado en un sitio visualmente acogedor y lleno de belleza natural. Me hubiera gustado estar un poco mas de tiempo para realizar más actividades. El concepto del hotel está basado en un muy interesante modelo ambiental y arquitectónico.

We honestly did not expect Cannua to be as amazing as it was! We expected a nice property with decent food and facilities, but what we got was above and beyond! 1st class customer service, all staff are absolute pleasure to deal with, property is stunning and aesthetically and architecturally fascinating. The story behind the place is inspiring - be sure to take the permaculture tour! Owners are great people. Food is on another level. We count ourselves lucky that we discovered the place early and before it becomes too popular and always booked out, which we are sure it will! Our deep thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful place.

My husband and I stayed for only one night due to time restrictions on our part, but will definitely be back for a longer stay. Even before getting to the lodge, the staff was already in contact with us offering directions, if we had any special request or need. Very courteous staff, from the front desk, to the server, to the chef (whom by the way, comes out to your table to make sure your plate is to your satisfaction). The property over all is in immaculate condition. The different activities offered are great and very enriching. A place we MUST go back to! Awesome job team! Maravillosa experiencia. El concepto de sostenibilidad del hotel hace apropiarnos del disfrute y cuidado. Instalaciones muy limpias y comodas alejadas de toda la vida citadina. Excelente vista del valle de San Nicolas. La atención estupenda, muy profesional y amable. Destaco la atención que tuvimos de parte de Fabian. Muy agradecidos con él y la enseñanza de las catas de chocolates y ron. Los demás integrantes del hotel muy atentos incluido el administrador. De la comida ni decir. Exquisita sin perder su caracter innovador y saludable hecha con productos cultivados de la región. La habitacion muy limpia y confortable. The Hotel is set right at the top of a hill in the middle of an amazing Antioquian landscape filled with Fincas and forests. The permaculture concept of the hotel was really impressive. The hotel was build out of compressed earth blocks and bamboo. The garden due to the permaculture concept can seem a bit wild but is ultimately beautiful and fits right in to the sourounding landscape. I was amazed by the numbers of birds you can observe all over the property. The food, especially the tasting menu was fantastic and reasonably priced. The bread served with the breakfast is probably the best I had so far in Colombia. We stayed in one of the cabañas which are spacious and sport a confy bed. The view from the cabañas is breathtaking, even more so if you are lucky enough to witness a thunderstorm over the valley. The service was excellent and especially Santiago the hotel manager was always around if needed and loved to tell tales of nature and sustainability. All in all an amazing experience.

Although the property is beautiful, they fail to tell you that the road to the property is in the worst condition (not paved) and if you go at night you will damage your car. Once you get near the property, this so called path with pebbles and huge holes gets worse. They made the property beautiful but didn’t care how guests get to the property. If you get stuck, there is no u-turn on that path to turn around. The most horrible experience we ever had trying reach at this place. They were constantly in touch with us and knew we were arriving at 10pm and never told us about the extremely poor road conditions. Then they overcharged at the at reception and we had to tell them they overcharged. Worst experience ever in traveling. Worst management and staff who don’t care how you arrive at this place.
