Trailhead Cabin - Horn’s Cabins

Relax and go for a walk. A cozy cabin by the river with small kitchen and bathroom. Cook out, cook in or eat out. We have fire pits and trails. Downtown Bedford and Shawnee State Park within driving distance.
The space
The whole cabin and lot is yours complete with a small kitchen and bathroom with shower. Two small bedrooms. A sun porch looking out towards the field. There’s a fire pit and picnic table.
Guest access
You can walk the trails along the river. Our property begins 200 yards downstream from the bridge and runs about a mile upstream from the bridge on the cabins side of the river.

Rocky gap State Park is located in Western Maryland, 2 hours drive from Baltimore. The fall colors have not peaked in this part of Maryland yet, but likely they will in the next one week. Great place and beautiful property with mountains, woods and a river. A nice camping cabin but it is rather rustic. AC worked great as did the hot water for the whole family. Well appointed kitchen for preparing meals. Small fridge so bring a cooler. Had a major problem with yellowjackets but the owner responded quickly with a chemical treatment and adjusted the rate very fairly. All in all a nice family getaway.

Inexpensive cabin with nice property

The cabin was cute and rustic with most basic comforts. I was taken aback with the semi-sheer curtain in the bathroom when every other window has a heavy curtain or blinds. The riverside property was very nice, although the traffic was noisy, even at night. Just know Jeff is rigid with c/i and c/o times, even if no one is staying before or after. In fact, the housekeeper knocked on the door (and opened it without waiting for an answer) because there was no car in front of the cabin at 9:30am. I was out walking at Shawnee, and my mom was there. Not good! Still a good value.

Too rustic

I do feel like the pics were accurate if limited. This place is ok if you are expecting a very rustic experience. The walls are peeling, cracked, and falling apart. The shower is little more than a hose hanging over the stall. The only place to set anything in the bathroom is on the hot water heater. The tp basically sits on the floor. Outlets are too high or nonfunctional. Doubt I would stay again.

Small place but can fit a whole family

We just spent one night, we were riding at Mountain Ridge ATV park. Perfect for us, and a reasonable price. Host is very good with communications and answering the phone. Thank you Jeff 👍

Trailhead Cabin

The place was everything we wanted, had all the amenities plus it was rustic, clean, big meadow with clear view of the night sky. We enjoyed walking, sitting by the creek, visit by various critters, deer, chipmunks, birds, etc. great fire pit for sitting outside. Lovely place, we look forward to returning.

Nice cabin

Reasonable price, nice little cabin by a creek to relax and have a campfire. Has heat and ac. Beds were comfortable. Everything worked. Water pressure in the shower was a little low but no big deal.
