This lake house is as described--right on the water, and in good weather it would be fantastic. It's kitchen is very well equipped and the large bottle of water is a bonus for making coffee and drinking water. Like many rural homes, it's no doubt on well water with a high sulphuric content....smells but is harmless. Thank you to the owner for providing the big water dispenser. We used it!!
There are many oddly conflicting rules regarding what to do with the laundry as you leave. We just chose one -- and stripped the sheets off the used beds and left them in the laundry room.
This was a nice getaway and the area is close to little towns, and road houses for meals, and Madison is extremely close....like a 1/2 hour away. The only downside for us was the TV....we were trying to watch details of Hurricane Ian so it was frustrating. TV-Plus just kept buffering and play time amounted to stints of 3-20 minutes. There was no consistency. We never could access Dish which was part of the setup, but there were no directions for use. Netflix was accessible but buffered constantly too. Perhaps this was all due to very high winds for the first few days we stayed. It's something to check with the owner about if you plan to watch any television.
All in all a comfortable and lovely setting and set-up. Beds are all very comfortable, and it would be perfect for a larger family. With just two of us, we had oodles of space. Because it was cold and windy we didn't ever use the outdoor screened space which would have been a great spot in mid-summer. In late September we instead sat wrapped up on the dock and enjoyed the setting sun.
Thank you Jason and Natasha for your island vibe home on the lake.
