Nice small hotel, they picked us up at the train station, hotel was clean and with a nice view to the river, good breakfast and good service definitely will recommend this place

Everyone was very helpful with accommodations and getting us settled in. Couldn’t have asked for better hotel. Aguas calientes is a beautiful place and Hotel Tara is the place to stay

Caution - We booked at Tara Machu Picchu, but when we arrived, we were moved to a nearby hotel, Retama Machu Picchu. After searching online, it seems Tara is the better hotel. I was disappointed with the bait-and-switch. Customer Service at Retama was great. Breakfast and the lobby area were ok.

This is a great hotel to spend one or two nights in Agues Calientes. The location is close to train and bus station and restaurants. It’s a very quiet hotel. The hotel is a bit old but it was clean and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Not a good experience at all. Run down and dirty. Stunk. Tiniest bathroom-size of airplane bathroom. Got bites all over my arms and legs at night from something. Bites turned into welts and caused muscle pain. Breakfast in morning was cold. Warmer under food was not plugged in. Staff were trying to be helpful but didn’t know English well. Got charged for two nights but only stayed one. Tried calling them for almost 4 months prior to reservation to cancel second night and they never got back to me. Expedia tried calling multiple times but they would not answer. Would not recommend.

Endroit très propre et facile d'accès. Petit déjeuner servi à partir de 5h00 Am ce qui est apprécié lorsque tu dois partir tôt. Le personnel est sympathique et accueillant. Bref, tout est parfait.

Staff were very friendly and took care of us the best way they could. Breakfast was decent but nothing to write home about. TV was broken in our room and plugs were so old anything you plugged in would almost always fall out unless you got it in there just right. Location was good for the Thermal Baths. Not sure if I would ever stay here again but there aren't many good options in Águas Calientes.

Room was really clean and I had a nice view of the river (some rooms look into other buildings). Staff was friendly but no one showed to pick me up at the train station ( thank heaven map on my phone was working). They shared breakfast duties with neighboring hotel but it was good and a nice variety. A laundry facility was right next door, which came in handy. Just a few steps from the Machu Picchu Bus pick-up area, Natural Spring Heated Pools and gorgeous Waterfall...

The hotel is a bit old, but it’s clean and well maintained. The room was spacious enough for a family of 3–4 people and offered great value for the price. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, making it very convenient. Most hotels in this area are narrow, vertical buildings due to limited space, so don’t expect an elevator in every property. The staff were always ready to assist and greeted guests with a smile, which made the stay even more pleasant.

O quarto era extremamente espaçoso com uma cama king maravilhosa, confortável e bem limpo. O único barulho era do Rio em frente que até era relaxante para dormir. Como a cidade é pequena, tem muitos restaurantes e cafeterias por perto, inclusive, também é bem próximo do ponto de ônibus que vai para Machu Picchu. Ficamos 2 noites e foi uma ótima escolha!
