"First the good stuff. Parking was easy and right outside my room- good during the rainy season. The desk clerks were nice and pleasant. The bed was clean and the room itself was clean. I used the fridge, kettle and the hair dryer, and these were fine. The not so good stuff: the carpet was torn, the shower plumbing leaked and sprayed from a connection point down low, the locks on the door were non-functional (door chain with both parts screwed into the door frame instead of one part on the actual door, and a turn lock that did nothing). The worst was my room was apparently double booked so strangers were trying to get in late at night. I told them through the door that it was occupied but they came back with a clerk that proceeded to open the door until I spoke up again. The clerk quickly apologized and left but I ended up moving a chair to block the door just for some mental comfort while I slept. It was expensive for how outdated and rundown the interior was but maybe I'm just not used to Aussie prices yet. The walls are thin enough I could hear neighbors watching tv and chatting. I brought my white noise machine just in case, so I could sleep undisturbed and was glad I did. It looks much nicer in the picture."

"Decent room, not many issues but the wifi was quite patchy and the brown curtains had lots of white stains on them which was very ordinary. This was reported upon checkout."

"We recently stayed with Valley Ranges Getaways and unfortunately had a mixed experience.Toward the end of our stay, we discovered water leaking through a ceiling downlight into the living room. This was quite concerning given it involved water coming through an electrical fixture, and it impacted our ability to use the main living area comfortably. We have photo and video evidence of this.We reported the issue after checkout and were disappointed that no compensation was offered. While we understand the host suggested it may have been due to heavy rainfall, we believe properties should still be maintained in a condition that is safe and fit for guests.To be fair, we did receive a noise complaint during our stay, which I take responsibility for. However, I don’t believe that should override a legitimate maintenance and safety issue.Overall, while the location and property have potential, the way this situation was handled left us feeling that guest concerns weren’t taken seriously."
