"I booked this apartment because the description said it was within walking distance of Sandwich town centre, and the map that was displayed prior to booking indicated it was located off Moat Sole in Sandwich town centre. It was only after I had gone through the booking process for what was a seriously expensive booking, a new address was provided for the property approx 1.6 miles away in Woodnesborough! I have restricted mobility and needed to be closer to the town so I asked if I could cancel....

"I needed immediate help when the sat sav dumped me nearby & my host talked me all the way to the front door which was a huge relief. The accommodation is dated but I knew that from the photos it was very clean though & i was surprised to find all the essentials had ben left. I wasn’t expecting that so had brought it all with me. "We loved staying here. It really had a mix of modern and historical. Felt like a proper English hotel and had a tub in our room!! Hard to find in Europe. There was some construction but it wasn’t impacting our experience and it’s obvious they’re reinvesting in the property and up keep which makes me know I would want to stay there again in years to come. "The room was great. Huge balcony overlooking the English Channel. Even the bathroom had a balcony. Good size modern bathroom with plenty of mirror space and nice shower. Check in desk staff was great. Bar staff friendly. Dinner (steaks and my son had a burger) at restaurant was very good. Taxis are a big problem. Sat for an hour 3 times waiting for a taxi. Almost couldn’t get one to the train station when it was time to leave. No Ubers or bus. No other options I was told by the desk clerk with no empathy. Different desk clerk than when we checked in. Fortunately I called the taxi driver we had already used and he made it a priority to get us to the train on time to catch our flight. Other than that I was very pleased with the hotel. Dover just needs Uber or more taxis. Call for a taxi LONG before you need one and expect to wait. Thank God we headed to the train station early that day. They had told us no cruise ships in port so it wouldn’t be a problem getting a taxi. That turned out to be wrong. It was raining lightly and I was told they were all doing school runs. "
