We stayed for one night before continuing our journey to Vernazza.
The people are friendly. However, the crickets in the trees make a terrible noise. So you have a choice to make : reduce the noise and close the windows (which means get room even gets hotter) or open the windows to get fresh air but have the terrible noise of the crickets keep you out of your sleep.
The rooms can use modernisation. Broken tiles on the floor, perhaps some airco units to increase the level of comfort.
The breakfast was good with enough choice.
The place it needs to be taken care, there’s no AC all you get is a fan that stopped working around 2am👎
The receptionist was very polite and kind unfortunately, he couldn’t do much to help with the situation
Flotte omgivelser. Fantastisk sted for servicen var i top.

We had a memorable and warm stay. The place is run by the family members themselves and they treat you as one of them. While the rooms were maybe a bit small for some people, but it should not be a problem as they have plenty of meeting rooms and green spaces for one to work (including two nice gardens). Bathrooms were very clean and there is lift access. The place is located ~15 mins by car from Lucca city center in the foothills and public beaches are ~30 mins from there. There are several walks and nature parks in the vicinity as well.
Above all, the food and hospitality were just amazing. They cooked vegetarian meals for us and severed them with pleasure. One should definitely opt to stay here if they are seeking friendly and homely atmosphere.
One of the best and most humble place I’ve ever stayed at. The Bertagni family made me feel like home and like I was part of the family! I ate breakfast and lunch with them. Some of the best homemade food!!! I appreciated that it was within a 15 min drive or in my case a 30 min bus ride from Lucca city center. Very quiete and charming full of history. I’m already excited for my visit back next year.
