The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was easy with a few decent options. The hot food wasn’t anything to speak of, but it was about what I usually expect from a budget stay. That said, all the kids in the breakfast area were definitely enjoying their fresh waffles.
The property does have some wear and tear. The chair in our room was tattered, the headboard was missing a couple of decorative pieces, the furniture was scratched, the tub was very worn with some missing enamel, and only one of the 3 lamps worked when we arrived. The front desk was happy to replace the burned out bulb and the missing bulb, but when we returned only the burned out bulb had been replaced. We never got a lightbulb for the desk lamp.
None of this was unlivable or inconvenienced our trip in any way, but the noise from other rooms was louder than most hotels we stay in. As I walked down the hall I could clearly hear the conversations in other guests’ rooms, as well as every TV that was on. There was a significant gap between the bottom of our door and the floor (about an inch), so I assume that’s where the lack of sound barriers stemmed from. The large gap under the door also meant the room was not dark at night, so we solved that by rolling a couple of towels and putting them at the door seam.
