This property was clean but I gave it only a 3 star rating.
The check in process needs to be improved. The host required us to estimate an arrival time which I did but we still waited 45 minutes for the someone to arrive to give us a key. We were two couples staying the unit and only one set of keys were provided which was not convenient. There was no coffee maker and the washing machine had to be held down during the spin cycle so it wouldn't bounce around. The mattresses and pillows need to upgraded as well.
The location of the unit was beautiful, right across from the beach and had ocean view, however, a couple of nights during our stay, it was very noisy late into the night due to a party going on downstairs. The couple staying in the front bedroom could not sleep with the windows open which made the bedroom very warm. A couple of days into our stay we did not have hot water. The water tank is run by gas and it had run out. I contacted the host and he was quick to respond. He sent me instructions on how to change it. We were out sightseeing for the day and would have changed it when we returned, however, it was done when we got back.
We appreciated that it had been done but my feeling is that if you are renting a unit, it should be the responsibility of the host to make sure your guests are well looked after and not expect them to have to change a gas tank to get hot water.
