Cozy spot in great location

Perfect location to enjoy the central coast with the whole family (pets included). Hosts were very accommodating and communicative. Look forward to returning some day!

Wonderful experience

Beautiful private unit, clean and spacious, decorated with the owner's nature photographs. Delightful nature library and large garden with a wildflower meadow and butterfly oasis. Gracious and generous hosts. A rave review!

Wonderful 1-bedroom unit

Location is fantastic for access to Montano Del Oro State Park. A birdy oasis down a dirt driveway, tucked away in Los Osos.

Nice Quiet Retreat close to Nature

The Perfect Getaway!

The property is so cozy, close to the beach, and just far enough to feel like you’re in a beachside getaway. We have had a great time there and we are always so happy we chose the birdhouse for our stay. Thank you Jim and Mini for making our little guy’s fourth birthday so special!!

Cozy Nature Getaway

We recently visited the guest house in Morro Bay for our son's third birthday weekend with our pup, and we can't wait to go back! The house perfectly accommodated us and our dog while we were there. The house was nestled in a quiet, peaceful spot a short drive away from the beach and Morro Rock. The guesthouse had everything we needed to rest in our downtime and eat together before our next venture. The owners made sure we had everything we needed and also spent some time showing us the beautiful pieces of nature around the property. Thank you for an amazing stay, we hope to be back soon!

A Great Place To Rest

If I could give "The Birdhouse" more stars I would. Jim and Mini are the best! They made us feel at home right from the start. Their place was so cozy, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. We had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was so comfortable and the fuzzy flannel sheets were a real plus. We slept great! The bathroom has plush rugs and nice thick towels which added to the homey feel! Jim has his beautiful photos on the walls. We also loved viewing his digital photo frame. His photos are so good! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Birdhouse Apartment. We would love to go back and will share this calm and peaceful place with our friends. Very welcoming and nice...

We have stayed in the Morro Bay area a few times, and this time was the first using a VRBO for our long weekend. This is a guest house attached to the property owners main house. Private, quiet, with a separate entrance. Comfortable front room with a wood-framed faux leather loveseat and reclining chair. Small kitchenette has a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, and sink. Kitchen was stocked with teas, coffees, and some snacks. Very welcoming. The bedroom is above-average sized with a queen-size bed. My wife and I were comfortable on the tempurpedic style mattress. We kept warm with the blankets and flannel sheets during the chilly September nights. The property is set back from the road and surrounded by trees and foliage. Many birds enjoy the bird feeders and bird baths. Communication was fantastic with the property owner, Jim. Very comfortable property and accommodations. Will definitely consider staying again when in the Morro Bay area.

Jim and Mini are such a lovely couple who greeted us and visited with us on the first night. They rolled out a ridiculously comfortable roll away bed that made my back feel better than it has been in years. My companions took the bedroom and they also loved their bed. So many little touches that made the stay enjoyable, the kitchen was fully stocked and the coffee top grade. I appreciated the environmental stewardship they displayed with recycling and compost bins for our use. I thoroughly enjoyed birding their yard and soaking in the glorious air of Morro Bay. Very convenient to all of the birding hotspots. I highly recommend this coastal getaway.

Lovely spot, would recommend

Lovely spot for watching birds, convenient to local trails and good area to walk around out the front door. Nice quiet area. Space was well appointed for the few days we visited. Hosts were welcoming and great.

The Birdhouse near Morro Bay

We had a lovely stay at the Birdhouse. Located in Los Osos, it is centally located and a short trip to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. It is quite ideal for a couple. The hosts were wonderful.

Everything was perfect, even better than described! The hosts add all sorts of wonderful touches like real half and half for the coffee and fluffy blankets by the couch. We will definitely be back.

I had a lovely time staying here. The hosts thought of every detail down to blankets and slippers for cold nights. They also have a comfy reclining chair perfect for reading. The place is spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again.
