My friend and I loved staying here. We wanted somewhere to decompress after driving for 9 days and this funky little pad was perfect. It’s a 1920s private guest house just off the back landing, accessed by steps. It is closer to Venice beach than to Santa Monica pier, with easy walking access to restaurants and the SM farmers market. The downstairs laundry was excellent, the kitchen well set up, and the whole place suited us. Be warned, though, if you are short, the high chairs at the kitchen bench might be a bit awkward. I used the writing desk for meals. T’mimah was a friendly and helpful host. We both liked her a lot.
The only downside was some difficulty with parking on the street. When we arrived there was none, so we nosed into the drive overnight (with T’mimah’s permission) but when a spot opened up the next day we ended up with a parking ticket because we didn’t read the instructions on the parking permit closely enough and thus didn’t display it correctly. Don’t make the same mistake!
