Fabulous Place

I love staying here because the owners are wonderful and have created with design and flair, a fabulous place to stay and relax. This is my second time renting and I will do it again!

Wonderful stay!

My wife and I stayed a few nights at the pool house at the end of our week in the LA area. Shannon was a very accommodating host with great communication. The house was exactly as represented and beautifully presented. The views were second to none and we had a very peaceful and restful stay. Bed was very comfortable. We were glad to have had the chance to stay here and hope to be able to do so again.

Amazing getaway above it all

We have stayed in the neighborhood previously, and loved being up and away from the bustle of downtown Malibu. The Pool House was a special treat, with fabulous views through big windows, or from a number of outside places to sit, beautiful furnishings, and a well outfitted kitchen, It was a quiet and serene place to return to after a day spent with family. Shannon is great to work with, and very responsive to questions. We hope to stay again, sometime.

I would move in full time if they'd let me . . .

Even better than the super accurate description. If you're the type who likes staggering ocean views, incredibly tasteful decorating, easy access to everything in Malibu and friendly and prompt service--this is the place for you. Already recommended to my parents and they're thinking about going soon . . .

Loved this place!

Wow! What a cool place. This pool house feels so remote and hidden from the main house. You really feel like you have this canyon to yourself. Awesome views into the canyon and out to the ocean. Lots of birds singing and dancing in the fruit trees right off the deck. The kitchen is supplied with all the pots, pans and utensils you need. It's just a very hip and cozy place.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!

Wow! This place is absolutely amazing. My husband and I have 3 kids (6 and under) and so we chose to avoid the hustle and bustle of a hotel to a private property to celebrate our anniversary. We absolutely made the right decision. Not only are views breathtaking , but it's super clean and soooo private. We ended up booking another night mid stay. We will absolutely be back!

Beautiful full ocean and mountain view house

My husband I enjoyed three days of weekend it was so calm and quiet time. My hubby is a so busy business man normally but he said he totally rested, relaxed and healed himself on our entire stay. I really enjoyed cooking at the lovely kitchen with spectacular view and we definitely want to go back someday again! Thank Shannon and Vitus for lending your clean and adorable pool house to us.

Fantastic peace!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. We found it extremely quiet and peaceful. The views are exquisite and the pictures do not do it justice. We stayed in February so we didn't use the pool. However, a summertime return is on our short list. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating and have the cutest dog ever! Also, the hosts directions to the property are extremely helpful. Do not trust your own GPS!

Spectacular!

My husband and I felt like we had arrived in a little bit of paradise! The views of the ocean and canyon (and the ocean breeze) were magnificent and the property was as promised/described - comfortable, well-appointed, and so unique. Shannon greeted us a with a very warm welcome, and told us to contact her if we needed anything at all. Wifi was also great (not so important for me, but my spouse appreciated it!) We found ourselves regretting that we had made dinner plans one evening as we would have preferred to stay put and enjoy the sunset on the deck! We would both love to return to this special spot someday.

Beautiful/unique property, with panoramic ocean/mountain views.

Mid way on our drive up this beautiful mountain, we realized no one can ever find us again. This house is perfectly placed for anyone wanting to get away from EVERYTHING. Every time I passed by the window I had to just stop and stare off for a good 20 minutes. My husband and I enjoyed sipping warm tea and using the binoculars provided to stargaze and birdd watch in the daytime. We even set an alarm to wake up early on our last day so we can take in the serene view and feel the perfecty soft sea breeze. The pool was so clean and suprisingly warm, and we used the diving board and has a blast. The home owners were very helpful and never even made an appearance (which made us feel very comfortable and felt like we were alone to enjoy it like our own home). They were verrrry friendly when setting everything up and made sure we knew how to access and use everything. There were so many good restaurants around (I was so happy because we did not want to end up eating something expensive like Moonshadows)....there so truly not one complaint I had here. Cannot wait to come again!!!!

The Pool House was Amazing

The Pool House is even more spectacular in person than in pictures. Amazing property and views. Great location convenient to Malibu and LA. Shannon was a wonderful host and gave us suggestions on where to go and what to see in the area including hiking trails. We would definitely return to the Pool House!

A perfect escape

All the glowing reviews of the pool house didn’t prepare us for the real experience. The house and grounds are beautiful and the views are stunning. Every aspect of the property has been thoughtfully planned and considered. This is a perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Shannon is a perfect host who responded immediately to questions. Her recommendations for local restaurants and attractions were knowledgeable and helpful.

Need to get away - this is a keeper !

This was the perfect place to relax and chill. SUPER quiet yet minutes from Pacific Coast Highway and the beaches. VERY clean and well maintained. We wanted for nothing-yet Owner was very accessible for any questions. Did not even need the A/C with the breezes coming up the canyon from the ocean...Will DEFINITELY be back ! Thank you !!!!

A beautiful view from a lovely little house

The house you see is a beautiful architecturally modern house way up in the hills above Malibu (thing Frank Gerhry though it is the owners’ design) and the rental is the pool house just below that. The view is stunning, the kitchen fabulously equipped and the owners gracious but never intrusive. It is up an extremely narrow and winding road, and if this is a problem for you then stay elsewhere, but if you don’t mind the road, and we didn’t, this is a wonderful retreat. The view is mountain and ocean and other spectacular homes in the distance. It’s a great place to explore the many beaches and state parks near Malibu as well as the Getty villa, which is very nearby and gorgeous, filled with antiquities from all over the ancient world. The house is decorated in authentic mid-century modern furniture and was a perfect place to chill for a few days. The owner left many interesting books about the area and architecture as well as menus for nearby restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful place

All the lovely comments written in the previous reviews are true. This place cannot be matched on its views and idyllic location, and it’s so close to the beautiful Malibu beach. We had plans every day so didnt really spend a lot of time at the property and I wish we would have taken some time out to enjoy it more. Being from the UK we were not prepared for the canyon roads which we found pretty scary! I’m sure travellers from the US would be used to them but our car was not really suitable for the roads to and from the property and for us the journey was daunting even in daylight (this is no criticism of the property)!! Almost every day on our drive we saw wild deer which was amazing. Overall this is a great property, the owners are lovely, and if you’re looking for somewhere to relax it’s perfect.

Stunning view! Lemon tree!

We stayed at this wonderful place for 11 days. We felt very welcome and had a wonderful time here. The view was amazing and just a few meters from the house you can pick your own lemons from a lemontree. The pool was exellent! We didn't miss anything , everything was included. Don't hesitate, just book this property!

Don't hesitate, just book it now! Don't miss the opportunity! Absolutely gorgeous house with a perfect view nestled in the mountains. Such a serene oasis in a very quiet neighborhood. The house was immaculately maintained with high end furniture and appliances. Even the bed was super comfortable! The pool deck was very clean and beautiful. Shannon and Vitus were perfect hosts, they let us have our space but made it very clear they were available for anything we needed. Tons of privacy! Wish we could have stayed longer!!!

This place is special

I’m sitting at that small dining table. We check out in about 3 hours. I have a 180 degree view through all these sliding glass doors. Close by is the beautiful landscaping - palms, lavender, rosemary, succulents, avocado and citrus trees and more. Then a steep canyon and a big view of the ocean. We love it here. We spend a lot of time just enjoying the view and watching the birds play in the trees. It’s our third time here and we look forward to coming back.
