Nice place on a hill overlooking the bay. Many times we would just sit upstairs or at the table and relax, watching the boats. Very roomy. Large eat in kitchen if you want to cook. My only real complaint is the water. It smells like fish. I imagine it's safe to drink.... the restaurant, Lord of the Isles, which was very good, served us the same smelling water. Just know that showering in it, if you're not used to it, is unpleasant and to bring drinking water with you.
Carnasserie Castle is 8.4 miles south. Amazing castle you can explore on your own. A little further is the Nether Largie standing stones and Ballymeanoch Henge. All of this is free and when we went (May '23) we were the only people there.
The owner is not on site, but very nice and although we had a bit of a hiccup, she took care of it immediately and even helped us out with a problem we had with lost luggage. Don't hesitate to reach out to her.
