Guest favorite for a private large open spacious house with amazing views and photography of wildlife. There is a extra Guest fee after 3 Guests of $35 each per night. GREAT Location and Amenities

We really enjoyed our stay at this home - it was SPOTLESS, very well appointed with many "extras" provided by the owner. Great common spaces, including a porch and outdoor patio. While we were only two, this is a great place for a group. The mountain views are really lovely. We would definitely stay here again. Only minutes from Lexington.

3 sets of sisters (7 of us) spent a delightful long weekend at Water Trough Hill. The house met our needs perfectly! Lots of room to spread out; 4 bathrooms was a bonus; the views are amazing with outstanding sunsets; the kitchen is well stocked; there was plenty of hot water and lots of big fluffy towels. Stephanie is a great hostess. She had the house opened up for us, fruit on the counter and milk in the fridge. She was very responsive to any inquiry we made and was happy to introduce us to her ponies. We would love to stay at Water Trough Hill again!

Wedding weekend trip

Quiet and beautiful

Surrounded by mountains and quiet. Easy access to Lexington. Stephanie is very easy to work with. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway. Overall beautiful place to stay.

Family wedding weekend

Very comfortable house, in a beautiful location. The house is exactly as shown in the photos. The bedrooms are very large, with comfortable beds. There were 8 adults in our group, 4 couples and there was plenty of space for all of us.

The best VRBO ever

Enjoyable stay!

Host is wonderful, considerate, very helpful & friendly. Provided fresh fruits, cake, milk, coffee, etc. for breakfast. Loved meeting her horses too. Home is spacious, well supplied with linens & toiletries. Location works well, is near Lexington, Buena Vista & major roads. Highly recommend.

Peaceful Retreat Minutes from Lexington

Our stay was amazing. The location, property and house are great; spacious, comfortable and it feels like home. A short jaunt to Lexington. As a host, Stephanie is fabulous. Everything you could think of was provided and even things you wouldn't think of but end up needing. Communication was superb. We will definitely stay here when we come back to Lexington.

Absolutely fantastic!!

We arrived and our host took us on a tour of the home. She had milk in the fridge for us which was incredibly sweet. The kitchen has everything you need and is spacious. The house is spacious enough for a family to spread out. Views are beautiful! Host is absolutely fantastic!!!! You will absolutely love your stay. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing property

It was an amazing property. Stephanie greeted us when we got there and showed us around the home. It was a peaceful location and had amazing views of the mountains and we had a family of 8 deer wondering around the property at different times of the day. Stephanie was even nice enough one evening to take us down to see her horses and explain things about them. Was close to VMI and we will definitely stay again

Definitely a Room with a View

Great house. Views for days. Had daily visits from the local wildlife (deer) in the yard. They were beautiful. Easy in and out to Lexington and other points of interest. Stephanie was great. Will come back when we can.

Beautiful Views!

Our favorite feature of this house is the beautiful views from all windows. The rooms are spacious and clean. The house is well-stocked with toiletries, kitchen and laundry products, thick towels, etc. - more than other places we’ve rented. Stephanie is a pleasure! We were seeking a quiet week of relaxation, and this rental was perfect for that. But, there is much to do in the area and plenty of space for children to play inside or outside.

Great Place in Great Location

Stephanie was excellent in keeping in touch, answering questions, and went above and beyond in preparation for our stay. A few snacks were very welcome and she was very responsive on some minor issues after arrival. We did not use the patio (front or back) during our stay due to the heat but was a nice space. There is plenty of space to park and the location is excellent for access to Lexington. We would definitely request to stay at Stephanie's in the future for a large group.

Generous Host; Lots of Room

This rental has everything you need - from a well-appointed kitchen, lots of linens, supplies of all kinds including toothbrushes, shampoos and soaps, to breakfast items and extra ice. It is a sprawling house with a lot of room to spread out. A large, enclosed back porch is a great place to visit and take a nap. There are several areas on the property to set up yard games. Highly recommend.

Great house!!

What a fantastic option to stay at while showing at the Virginia Horse Center. The house is a quick, easy drive from the show grounds. Check in is easy The house is so well stocked with everything you need, including things you might have forgotten like toothbrushes and shampoo. There's plenty of extra towels & linens too. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the front porch while watching a family of deer wander by. This is SO much more comfortable than a hotel. We'll be back!!

Best Thanksgiving Ever

The mountain views are amazing. Capture the sunrise and sunset from front and back porches. Visit the beautiful mustang horses at the barn. Enjoy fun dinners with family at the large dining room table. Snuggle up in the living room to watch a show or play cards and board games. Take long walks along the Chessie Trail just 5 minutes away. Or venture out for an amazing hike on any of the numerous hiking trails in the area. Stephanie, our host, is terrific and so welcoming and engaing.

A gym in the Blue Ridge

For a quick getaway birthday weekend, we took the family and the kids friends for a trip to Lexington. We spent the day at natural Bridge and came home to a wonderfully delightful house! Everyone had ample room for private time as well as well laid out dining and family rooms for games. The mid teenage kids played a variation of Flashlight tag in the fence in property. The views are absolutely amazing picture and look unreal! We stayed at VBROs quite often. The host was so wonderful leaving half gallon of milk, full-size toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap.. Just an absolutely lovely place to stay five stars does not truly encompass. How wonderful of a home and a host this property is.If we’re back in Lexington, for some reason, we hope to be able to stay here once again

Washington and Lee event

We were in town to watch our daughter's tennis team play in an invitational that was being hosted by W&L University. The house is out in the country with a stunning view, but was still close to the campus which made it very convenient to travel back and forth for the matches. We stayed with another family and the house was spacious with plenty of privacy with 4 full bathrooms. The entire house was conveniently stocked with linens and extra amenities. Stephanie was a gracious host and responded promptly whenever I had a question. We would definitely stay here again if our travel needs ever bring us back to Lexington!
