Beautiful lakefront property

Before reading the description below note that no pets are allowed. Relax on the Barbee Chain of Lakes - seven lakes connected to kayak, paddle board, swim and fish! This beautiful home sits lakefront on Sawmill Lake, which is the entryway to Grassy Creek, where you can take a kayak to also enjoy Lake Tippecanoe through a boat lock/lift. There are also three restaurants on the Barbee Chain, Lake Life, Danny's Pizza and the Barbee Hotel Restaurant. Within 20 minutes from the shops at Winona Lake - and close to the quaint town of North Webster and Syracuse, Indiana. Start enjoying lake life here with family and friends, making new memories!

Home provides a pier for fishing and swimming off the pier for stays before Labor Day (or after Memorial Day in 2025). Boats not allowed to bring without previous approval by home owner. Please also note the home has one full bathroom and two additional 1/2 bathrooms. While we don’t allow pets through VRBO, the owners have a dog. If you have a pet allergy let us know in advance. There are also outdoor security cameras, i.e. Ring doorbell. There is parking that fits three cars.

Everything was perfect! There were no details left out in this home. It had everything you could imagine in a home and then some. Warm and cozy feel and nicely decorated! Would definitely stay here again😊

Nice house with incredible views!

Very nice house. We enjoyed our stay. Would have appreciate that there was a ladder attached to the dock to make it easier to go swimming in the beautiful lake. Host was very effective responding to email.

Lovely place

A small group of close friends stayed two nights in this beautiful lake house. We had such and enjoyable and relaxing time. The house was very well stocked with basic necessities and the sleeping arrangements allowed room for our group. Any questions we had were very quickly answered by the owner. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay again in the future!

Goshen College Graduation

The house is beautiful…especially on the inside. Comfortable bedrooms, lots of hangers. Well stocked kitchen and pantry. Very warm weather and we had no problem controlling the temperature to remain comfortable! Perhaps we were the first to stay in this VRBO in warmer weather this year because the outside could have used some love. I wish the steps outside were swept and spruced up, made it tricky maneuvering them. The hot tub was partially uncovered and leaves and debris inside so we could not use. The deck had not seen love and we needed to clean debris of tables to use them. Staples on high top table made a tear on my sons shirt. Slight tears in some of the chairs so tried not using them. Opened umbrella and bugs fell into food from perhaps first time being open. Bees around, perhaps first humans using their area. Slight slope on the side of the deck. Kayak’s were visible but could not find paddle to use. Floating dead opossum on the side of the dock, not something you want to stare at while enjoying the scenery. Lovely home and I’m sure a lovely outside when preparations are taken.

Beautiful, peaceful escape

The house is beautiful and the setting is so peaceful. The view from the living room is wonderful with all those windows. Check in and check out process was super easy. Tracy left a welcome bottle of wine, which was so thoughtful. My sons and I stayed a few days and enjoyed the house and hot tub. Beds were comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms offer everything you need for pleasant stay. Definitely plan to return when weather is warmer.

Perfect weekend escape

Beautiful place with plenty of space for a family even though it was just my wife and I this time. It was off-season for the lake so it was quiet and peaceful but has a great location right on the water that would I’m sure make this a great location in the summer. We will definitely be back.

Girls Read-treat

We stayed at the property just for one night as a last minute mom’s getaway and 40th bday. The Lakeview was beautiful. Hot tub was clean. Very nice kitchen to cook and snack on. Our feet did get dirty walking barefoot on the floor but it seemed to be dirt sticking from a floor cleaner. It was otherwise very clean. Instructions were easy to follow. Overall it was a great (just too short) getaway.

Perfect for a quick getaway

We loved the view, the fireplace, hot tub, and the kitchen was massive and very up to date. Would be fun to cook a holiday meal or tons of snack in. Everything worked well for a quick girls weekend.

Lovely Lake Property

The Mermaid House was very clean and had everything we needed. The view of the lake was stunning and the windows provided gorgeous light, as we prepared for our daughter’s wedding. We will definitely be back if we stay in the area again!

Relaxing Family Getaway

We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday with our adult children during our stay. The mermaid house was beautiful with an amazing view of the lake. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking and then some. A cabinet was stocked with spices. We brought food with us so we didn’t have to leave during our stay. The hot tub was amazing on a cool fall night. Check in and out was easy. Tracy was very nice to communicate with. We plan on making a summer visit.

Beautiful getaway

The property was phenomenal! Gorgeous place with many upgrades and amenities. We stayed here for the weekend of a Notre Dame game and could have not asked for more with easy access and beautiful area. We were very pleased with all the owner had to offer with this special getaway ! Highly highly recommend!

Positive and Enjoyable Stay

I secured this property for a candidate and her husband to stay during a recruitment trip to Warsaw. They spoke highly about the comfort, the lake views, and space. Beautiful lake house with amazing views!

We had a great stay at the mermaid house!!! The views of the lake are incredible and the house is stocked with everything you can think of. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck, cruising around on the pontoon, and relaxing in the hot tub. We would love to visit again someday.

Cannot recommend Mermaid House enough!!

Five stars. Seriously, FIVE stars! While the pictures of the property in the listing are gorgeous, they truly don’t do the property justice because I was blown away when we arrived! The house, decor, and view are stunning and there is so much to do on the property as well, such as a hot tub to enjoy, water activities on the lake, a fire pit, and more! The host, Tracy, was extremely welcoming and very communicative, and the checkout process/clean up is streamlined and easy. The house and kitchen are extremely well stocked and you don’t really need to bring any extra items if you’re worried about that. This property is perfect for families with kiddos, a girls weekend (what we did for our stay), or a couples getaway. My one and only regret is that we didn’t book two nights instead of one because we had such a fantastic time! The one and only suggestion I would give (and it is very minor) is to trade out the single twin bed in the smaller room with a full size bed (if possible) to accommodate larger families staying there.
