Lovely lakehouse, all the amenities were there and the place was clean. Of course, the view of the lake is the best part. The objective of our trip was to visit poont pelee national park so the location was also primo!
We had a relaxing amazing stay at this beautiful property! It was a short drive to the point with a great local restaurant across the street! The view and house was stunning! Amazing time!
We were looking for an Essex County wine route get away.
One of the hightlights was Freddies Restaurant right across the street!
Amazing brothers who offer authentic lebanese food
Great location close to amenties and the bucket list items we wanted to do. Property is newly renovated and well thought out for everything we could want for a relaxing stay. Hosts are attentive, friendly, professional.
Highly recommend this cottage on Lake Erie for a couple, small family or girls weekend getaway! My husband and I enjoyed our weekend escape and were overall impressed with the cottage. We’d definitely consider bringing our two teenage boys next time. Listing is very accurate and the owners were very prompt in response. A short drive from the cottage is Pelee Point National Park which has lots of hiking, bike riding, kayaking, picnic areas, bird watching, fresh water scenery and more!
We had a lovely, restful stay at this cottage on Point Pelee. The open floor plan with so many windows was just perfect and the patio a lovely place to unwind and read. The cottage is tastefully appointed with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to relax or recreate. The shower is a wow - and we took photos for inspiration! Kitchen was liberally supplied with all we needed. Very nice overall!
Property was amazing, very well appointed and comfortable, close to everything, amazing view and sunsets but just an FYI, for whoever was last to leave the property before us, is that 2 side doors were both unlocked and 4 windows were not locked, we will definitely consider renting this property again tho
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the lakeside cottage, which Paul had tastefully appointed. We loved the amazing view of the lake from the floor to ceiling windows and enjoyed a fire on the patio our first night before venturing over to Pelee Island our second day. Beds were super comfy and I can't think of one amenity we needed after arrival. We had some terrible storms Thursday night but enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing over the rocks. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises to go back.
My husband and I stayed at this Hideaway for 4 nights summer 2024. The place was extremely clean when we arrived! What you see on the Vrbo app is very accurate, there were no surprises. The hosts were very friendly and responded quickly to any of our questions before our trip and while we were there. The only thing we would suggest, is the place needs a much larger fridge. The current fridge is an apartment size and if you have a family and kids and your food/drinks for 4-5 days, there is not much room. We completely enjoyed our stay at this location. The restaurant across the street Freddie’s, had great food and super friendly owners, definitely recommend visiting there during your stay!
Overall the property is great. Newly renovated, clean, great patio with hot tub, great location and kitchen is very well stocked. On the downside - some things need to be maintained much better. One of the patio boards is cracked, the door the washing machine are broken off the hinges, some of the blinds are broken or missing and the screen to upstairs bedroom is ripped in several places. When you are paying top dollar these things should be repaired right away. If these little things bother you, I would suggest looking at another property.
The cottage is tidy and cute, but the best thing about it is the gorgeous view from 2 sides. There is a flattened lot next door, and next to that a pretty wrecked house, but we looked the other way and focused on the stunning lake in front of us and the view of the little park on the other side.
We really enjoyed the parks nearby, with lots of walking trails, and we loved the town of Leamington and the very nice beach.
The only things on the negative side - and they were minor for us -
- There were big black ants, probably from the very pretty willow tree hanging over the house. We didn't see any in the bedrooms, and were very careful not to leave any crumbs or food out.
- The back door next to the big picture windows was stuck shut, so we had to go around from the kitchen to get to the patio - not a big deal.
- The instructions for using the TV are hilariously sun faded (it took two of us and an iphone flashlight to solve the mystery) and it'll instruct you to use a Netflix account that doesn't exist anymore.
- There's no paved walk or path from the parking pad to the door, so it was awkward dragging luggage across the lawn.
None of the negatives were enough for me to give our stay anything less than 5 stars. It was perfect for us, calming, beautiful, peaceful, clean, and perfectly located.
The property was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. Lots of windows with a few that can be a little stiff when trying to close or open the metal exterior blinds but manageable. On our first day it was cool and windy on the lake with huge waves crashing against the rocks out front and splashing against the large bay windows, we were looking forward to the hot tub. Had unexpected guests arrive for a few drinks and late night hot tub but unfortunately tub water level wasn't checked prior to our arrival so it never got to temperature. Tub error code in the morning helped me figure that out. After adding water and a few hours later, it got to temperature and we were able to enjoy a nice hot tub on our final day. I relaxed with a coffee in the morning and thought I'd go over the long detailed rental agreement the dream team sent me. First the check out time, 10AM? Just enough time to read the agreement and 2 coffee's and make sure we did everything properly. 11AM is reasonable in my opinion, felt rushed even though I'm an early riser. And YES, make sure you read it carefully, there are many charges for not leaving on time, not sorting your recyclables to what to do with your garbage, sorry, don't remember them all. Seems to be the NEW short term rental agreement thing to make the renter do all these things, I personally am not fond of it. All in all a nice relaxing 2 days to unwind and enjoy the beautiful view in a clean comfortable home , beds were super comfy too.
this spot was perfect for our 3 day get away. We soaked up the sun and enjoyed lakeside sunsets. there an great ice cream shop and restaurant across the street.
Exactly what my wife and I needed for a short escape. A little more privacy for the hot tub would have been nice, but the cottage had everything, was clean and the view was exactly as advertised. Thanks for a great stay.
We love the location and the lake view, close to amenities and the national park. So relax to enjoy glass of wine in the waterfront during the sunset hours. Recommend to anyone and will visit again when in the same area. Easy access to the hosts when we have questions.
This cottage is beautiful and conveniently located right across from the park and restaurant. The cottage was well stocked and owners were responsive. The only negatives were lack of a oven. The kitchen only contains a cooktop. The cottage is also located next to a public look out. This can impede on privacy at times.
It was the perfect spot for my daughter and I for the long weekend! The cottage was clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy! The view of the lake was amazing and the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks made for a good night sleep ! This cottage has all that you need. Bonus having Freddy’s restaurant and ice cream bar across the road! Would definitely stay here again!

I had.
Booked another location nearby but there were issues with the heat and a few other things. We were reassigned to this cottage. It is very small but was perfect for 2 people. We really enjoyed Pointe Pelee. I would stay again.
