Esther’s Guesthouse is perfectly situated in Gimmelwald and very close to the lift. The hosts are very welcoming and have a sweet kiddo that played with my kids on the playground while we stayed there. The village is charming and quiet. It’s a perfect family retreat.

Very comfortable and clean room, you should have no reservations about any of the shared space. It was kept spotless. The bed linens in particular were particularly warm and staying there was a relaxing experience.

Loved the place,highly recommended,need to know you will need to cook your own meals,fully functioning kitchen,otherwise you can eat out at local hotel,within the village.the co-op have big presence in area for grocery supplies,with biggest store in interlarken ost,and smaller presence in Murren,and lauterbrunnen

If you want a more small town experience in Gimmelwald, this is one of the few places that have available lodging. The guesthouse with shared bathroom wasn’t my cup of tea, however. Customer service was okay. The one-bed room was very small for the price I paid. I went to a hotel in Wengan for my last couple days in the area and personally found it to be more comfortable experience at a similar price.

When I first saw my room - 'small bedroom' - I almost walked away, but...had prepaid and was too tired to want to find another place, so I stayed. The home's environment - location near cable station in quiet neighborhood won me over, plus I met the couple - my 'shared bath'-mates - and wen to dinner with them. Esther's was a good place for me as a base, not for the small room.

성수기에 기적적으로 예약하게 된 숙소 혼자서 너무 편하게 잘 지내다 갑니다 공용 욕실이라고 했는데 저 포함 총 2개의 룸만 사용할 수 있는 욕실이라서 더 만족합니다 덕분에 김멜발트라는 새로운 마을을 발견했네요 뮤렌에서 놀다 걸어서 숙소 오는 길이 너무 예뻐서 기억에 많이 남아요

Gimmelwald is a lovely little village, no cars, no stores. Esthers Guesthouse is perfect: wonderful staff, friendly guests. Bring your own food or buy at the Coop in Muerren (one stop further up the mountain) and cook it in the fully equipped guest kitchen--or get the excellent breakfast.

Winter Wonderland

Our experience at Esther's Guesthouse was beyond perfect during the new year. Tobias and friends where most humble and welcoming and really made us feel comfortable and at home. This location is the best for this area and having access to both Murren and Lautenbrunnen surrounding villages it really was the cherry on top. This place was magical and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The absolute best and coziest place

This was the coziest spot. I had the best trip of my life in the most beautiful place. I woke up every morning with a view of the mountains—unreal. Cannot recommend enough. The place was kind and accommodating also.

Comfortable Stay

I really enjoyed my stay at this guesthouse. The room, which they upgraded for me, was quite spacious and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. I used the paid laundry service one night, dropping my clothes off at 8 pm, and woke the following morning to finding my clean, dry clothes sitting just outside my door. The hotel requires a gondola ride to get to, which made it feel remote like an adventure. The kitchen is shared among the guests and had all the cooking tools you could need, also a great coffeemaker. My bathroom was somewhat across from the kitchen, but it was so quiet when I stayed that this was comfortable. It was a wonderful stay overall, and I would happily come back here again.

The owners were really hospitable and friendly at arrival. The breakfast was really great as well. For my stay the location was great with the views and to hike through the surrounding area. Overall experience was really satisfying.

Great stay

It's a great experience staying at esther house with nearby cable car up and down James Bond mountain and other interests. t has beautiful mountain view and can cook when preferred. For shared bathroom, jus shared with 1 more room. So no problem.

We stayed in the loft with the bathroom and it was a fantastic experience. Our hosts Tobias and Franzisca were amazing, and so was Barbara who took great care of the house.
