Love the atmosphere, full of character. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Fabulous food, great service. Rooms are beautiful. Definitely returning.

On arriving around 13.00 we got a table for food next to the fire, the table was not cleaned from previous diners, nor the two tables connected to ours. The sleep was not great as it was far too hot, even after turning the radiators off. The whole establishment was too hot. We ended up usinf the fan throughout the night. The food was good and the breakfast was lovely.

Recently spent two nights at the Inn. My wife and I found the accommodation excellent. The room was very clean and tidy and well equipped. We ate in the restaurant and found the cuisine of a high standard. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We would definitely book again in this very charismatic and charming setting.

Historical place with views
Lovely hotel. I wish i stayed here and spent more time. Instead of somewhere to stay for business trip. Cosy room and very clean, the views where lovely. I love the history of the place

Fabulous
What a fabulous place to stay. Every single staff member were so lovely. Superior room a little compact but clean and comfy with sky tv being a bonus. Restaurant fab. Not overpriced and best steak ive ever had. Another bonus was a secure dog walking field so cant fault this place at all.

Lovely accommodation but poor restaurant service
The accommodation and hotel staff are fantastic, we have stayed here a few times and this part is always great. However, the table service part of the restaurant is getting worse on each visit. On our most recent visit, we were seated by an abrupt and disinterested member of staff on a table next to a door that went out to the smoking area. We did ask if we could sit elsewhere but were told we would be fine at this table, there were 3 other tables of diners in the very large restaurant. Her reluctance to move us probably had something to do with the fact that our table was surrounded by vacated tables which had not been cleared after their diners left. It took close to 30 minutes for our order to be taken by the non existent waiting staff. The food arrived reasonably quickly and was absolutely fine. We then again waited to order dessert but after 20 minutes of no visible staff, we gave up. We then had to search for someone to pay the bill. Next time we will eat in the bar area where you order food yourself, as this appeared to be quick and efficient. Breakfast service the following morning was the complete opposite with lovely, attentive and friendly staff. However, at £14.95 per person it is very poor value for money especially as their main breakfast is very small. We will return as we enjoy the accommodation and location but will consider different eating options

The shower was rubbish because the head was leaking and lacking pressure. No hair dryer which was really disappointing. Needed to be cleaned better. The staff were polite, the building itself is really cool and always had more coffee in the room for the following morning

Memorable Wedding Anniversary stay
Stayed here in September and decided to come back again this time for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. We stayed in room 39 Daphne du Maurier suite. Absolutely amazed by this room, extremely spacious with fantastic views. The bed alone is eight feet wide and so comfy.Stayed here for two nights this time. We dined in the restaurant both evenings. Food was amazing, staff service was A1. Abi in the restaurant went above and beyond to give us a special wedding anniversary evening.Throughly enjoyed our stay. Becki on reception is lovely and is a credit to Jamaica inn. We will definitely be retaining soon and hope you have some one eyed rebel rum in black cherry. Thank you for making us feel very welcome.

Everything about The Jamaica inn is a good experience from the lady at Check-Inn ( Lee) to the super room ( they even put up birthday balloons for my wife’s birthday) to the very happy bar staff, the whole place has”atmosphere”.just the one criticism, there should be a Maître D’ for the dining room as staff ( all young) tended to hang around the computer check in area chatting. TwiceI had to go and find someone for service. Next time I shall eat in the bar which seemed to be very successful. I did say “ next time”. I shall be back.

Nice, comfortable stay. No frills but clean, large room with comfortable bed. Old, with a lot of history, the Inn uses it’s past as a real selling point. A lot of character.

We stayed @ Jamaica Inn one night, as part of a touring holiday of Devon and Cornwall. I wanted to stay as I am a Daphne Du Maurier fan and had loved the remoteness and romance of the place for decades. My husband agreed under sufferance. But we both agreed it was one of the best places we stayed in on our trip. The recent refurbishment meant the rooms were very well appointed and the food facilities more than met our needs. We had a dog with us and she was made very welcome, with facilities that suited her and lots of fuss from the staff. I would highly recommend.

Charming historic pub/hotel
Gem of a traditional pub/hotel in incredible location. Tidy, clean and fascinating accommodation with the added bonus of an historic pub serving very good food & drink. Room well appointed - comfortable with all the necessary facilities and some nice touches - Bathroom a little tired and in need of some TLC

Overall a good stay, but younger restaurant staff need better training. eg. Items were frequently asked for by various guests at breakfast. A keen eye to the level of juice, bread, plates etc would have sorted the problems before anyone had to ask for them.

An A+++ establishment!!
The hotel is in a grate place for exploring all of Cornwall and offers plenty of free parking. Not only that it is an absolutely amazing place to stay with top quality rooms and service and great tasting food with massive portions. It really is well worth the money and we are definitely planning to visit again!
