I stay because of the location

I keep coming here because of the convenience but find the continuous refresh of the hotel a lot to take in. Conditions of the room range from good to could be better. Note the owners and staff are great people and they are doing what they can.

Good people that are doing what they can

I have stayed here often over the course of the last couple years, The staff and owners are very nice people. The hotel has been in a perpetual "refresh" and room conditions vary from good to could be better. I will return again once the refresh is complete.

Property is right across the road from Horrocks and there’s plenty of dining and shopping areas nearby. Our first tome staying here and while we probably wouldn’t stay again it wasn’t too disappointing, just not what we normally stay at. The room as clean but it’s dated and the hallways need some attention and there was an unusual smell in the hallway. The hot tub was in repair and while there was a pool it looked like it was closed off too as there wasn’t a single person in it.

This place is in the midst of being remodeled. The service is like warm, the breakfast is basic at best even though they call it "Superior". The walls are thin and doors need to be replaced.

Overall, good stay.

Nice open lobby, nice open rooms, has DOVE for the mini soaps which I thought was very nice. To be fully honest, the receptionist was a little rude like literally every time I had to talk to her but the girl that was working the next morning was pretty nice.

Good hotel at a good value

In the last year I have stayed here 7 or 8 times. The sheets and towels are always clean. During the week, Chef make a very nice breakfast. The other hotel staff are great and the owners are very nice. They are slowly updating the hotel so consider some parts of the property and rooms in transition so give them a bit of grace.

Hotel is under construction everywhere ! we put in the far back corner with no security cameras and the stairwell doors didn’t lock ,super creepy hotel..not maintained or clean outside of the room .. Our room inside was ok but would not recommend this place to anyone .did not feel safe at all during our stay ..

The front desk staff was nice. When I opened the bedside drawer it had a bag of Ireo’s and a vape in it. Clearly, the cleaning staff wasn’t very thorough. The bathtub backed up with a foot of water. We had to completely remove the drain plug in order for the tub to drain. There were quite a few signs posted about how breakfast was “dine in only” and no good/drink could be taken outside the dining area. The reality is that the breakfast was one of the absolute worst I’ve ever had. There’s nothing I would have wanted to take back to my room even if I wanted to. The remaining few days we had breakfast at Denny’s instead. The room was pretty cheap (cost-wise) and we pretty much hit what we paid for. That being said, we won’t be staying here again.

The property has just transferred to Clarion. It is in dire need of updating. There seem to be long term residents who cook in their rooms, causing the hallways to smells. The rooms were clean, however the accommodations are old.

I liked the retro lobby. The rooms were clean, and staff was super friendly. Only one set of elevators for a huge hotel is a bit inconvenient,the hike to your room was also a bit inconvenient. Upstairs layout was like a labyrinth because its huge and improper directory signs. No ice anywhere. Crammed breakfast area was uncomfortable and chaotic, food was bad. They are remodeling so i am sure it will improve.

Adequate place to sleep

The hotel was clearly older. There was a spot on the bathtub that was chipped and rusted. The halls smelled of linger smoke of a bygone era. The pool was a bit run down and dingy, the hot tub was closed. The heat was turned off in the room so it was very cold when I arrived, but warmed up once I turned the heat on. The interior of the room was updated and clean. Water pressure was lack luster and shower didn’t get very hot, overall it was acceptable for the price but nothing spectacular

A Fixer-Upper Hotel…

This hotel was apparently once a large convention hotel; with three floors, many rooms, large ball rooms, and a seafood restaurant connected. But it is well beyond its hey-day. I don’t know what the new owners have in mind, but this is an enormous project which, at their current pace and effort, will take them many years and millions of dollars to renovate. The staff was nice enough, the room was free of obvious wear, and the king size bed was comfortable with clean sheets. The furniture was a little worse for wear and the toilet didn’t flush properly. The included breakfast was surprisingly palatable and what you would normally expect from most hotels. If I could offer one bit of advice to them that could greatly enhance their efforts with very little cost or effort, it would be to establish some sort of uniform or at least wear name tags. The staff were all wearing street clothes so it was difficult to know who was working there, who was a guest, and who was just passing through. I wish them well with this project.
