We had a relaxing and fantastic stay at Ambong Ambong Raiforest Retreat. The hospitality was exceptional, the food delicious, the rooms were clean and set amongst the canopy so it was very relaxing. The staff were thoughtful and no request was too much. I would definitely return.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Thanks for everything they do! Villa was nice and very clean, they check on the villa twice a day. Since it's a small accomodation, they get to know you well and are on top of the activities you plan. Super friendly and nice overall.

Lovely place to relax, super food and super attentive and friendly staff nothing too much trouble The rooms are lovely, they are literally up in the rainforest so there are steps to climb but you only need to ask a staff member and they will take you up in the car. The hotel has a farm inland and do a visit with the hotel chef to look around and prepare a meal, well worth it!

Fabulous Stay

Wonderful retreat high in the rainforest. Transportation provided up or down the hill whenever requested and ready to take us up to our place as soon as we arrived. Staff couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. Excellent restaurants and spa. Great location. Lovely beach across the road where Holiday Villa will sell you a wristband for about $10 to use their pool, facilities, beach and pool lounges, and give you a beer or soft drink. Many restaurants nearby, though those at the resort are among the best. We’d go back any time.

This is a wonderful property in the rain forest! We were so impressed by the FRIENDLY and professional service that went above and beyond anything we have experienced to date! Amazing Ambong

Amazing…..service. Every staff member greeted me by name. I remember a couple of name. Lee picked me up at the airport which is always nice to see a smile from after a flight. Azin was my driver for the hill and sister hotel. Dropped me off a scooter rental which was excellent. Elena saw me off and checked on my stay. 4 nights then stayed an extra night in the canopy suite. UPGRADE whenever possible! Raja the grounds keeper was always working on the gardens. Food was great. Wendy Chin for nature guide! Langer Monkeys are residents! Of course the naughty macaques…fun to watch. Almost forgot to mention the happy birthday surprises they made it special!

The nature surrounding the villas is stunning, and so much love and thought is put into the hospitality experience. We are also vegan, so having a vegan restaurant was delightful! Wonderful place for anyone who is looking for an eco-friendly hotel. Staff were very helpful and tried their best to make our stay comfortable. Just note that the property is on a hill, which requires climbing some stairs to get to your room. Transportation around the hotel is provided upon request.

The unique location of this property sets it apart. You really feel like you are immersed in the rainforest, with a front row seat to the lives of the animals that dwell in it. The service and care we received from all the staff at the retreat during our stay was exceptional. The dining was excellent and the views from the Rimba restaurant at sunset completely unforgettable. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves nature and is seeking peace and tranquility.

Ambong Ambong is nestled in the rainforest which provides a lovely calming experience, the staff are so willing to assist you in any way including driving you to the restaurant and back to your room, would absolutely recommend to anyone travelling to langkawi, however they do need to change who does their laundry as we had a few items ruined

Watch the local taxis; they try to drop you at the bottom of the mountain and it’s impossible to get your suitcase up to reception. You then have to leave it unattended. I felt concerned as reception tried to sell me spa treatments over moving my luggage so a rocky start. That being covered I couldn’t really rate the lovely staff and accommodation. They were simply wonderful. Monkeys are so sweet but thieves :) watch your mobile and bright coloured nail varnish . Mine are all somewhere in the rainforest. You do need insect repellent. There are lots of mosquitoes. The staff will supply you if you forget and they don’t charge. The beach at the bottom of the mountain is stunning and not busy. Very clean ( no plastic) which seemed to be a problem as I traveled around Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. Have a great stay!

My husband and I stayed at Ambong Ambong's Canopy Suite for 4D3N for our wedding anniversary. It was an absolutely magical experience. The room was scenic, clean and well-maintained. It allows you to bask in nature very comfortably! We saw hornbills, giant squirrel, monitor lizard and dusty leaf monkeys during our stay. Don't worry, they were just in their natural habitat and didn't disturb us. There were activities there included in our stay and all you had to do was check if slots were still available. We did yoga, singing bowl and aerial yoga and had a great time! Food at both Rimba and Pegaga restaurants were great, but we really loved Pegaga as it was really quiet, naturesque and served delicious vegan food. The staff had fantastic customer service - before during and after our stay. We were super impressed. There are only 11 rooms there and the service was very personalised. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we would be shuttled by car up and down our rooms to the breakfast restaurants (Rimba and Pegaga) and down the hill to the entrance of the hotel whenever we want to go out. Staff were really prompt in replying us. They even went out of the way to bring us to restaurants that were another 5 minute drive outside of the hotel! Special mention to 2 staff who were extra kind and friendly and made our stay there exceptional: Putra and Lee. They regularly fetched us in the evening and morning respectively. Eingebettet in die Natur ohne dass man in einer unangenehmen Holzhütte schläft, gemuröich, sauber, Natur pur uns Affen mit ihren Babys in den Bäumen. Die Steigungen unf Treppenstufen empfanden wir als nicht störend, man weiss schließlich beim Buchen worauf man sich einlässt;) Die Malayen sind deutlich freundlicher als die Thais, ohne künstlich zu wirken (egal wo man hingelangt). Sauberkeit wird hier groß geschrieben. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die angeschlossenen Restaurants haben Landesküche, die muss man mögen. Aber es gibt auch Thaiküche und internationales in den umgebenden Restaurants. Das Spa Angebot haben wir nicht genutzt. Der Whatsapp Rezeptionsdienst funktioniert perfekt Immer für den Gast da. Wirklich sehr gut. Wir haben uns insgesamt willkommen gefühlt und eine schöne Zeit verbracht.

せっかくのランカウイ島なので、ありきたりのリゾートホテルでなく、ランカウイらしい所が良いと思って探しました。ambon は静かで隠れ家のような感じで過ごせました。スタッフはみな親切でフレンドリーです。家族のようにもてなしてくれます。食事も注文を受けてからの手作りでおいしかったです。フレッシュジュースや果物も美味しかったです。
