Historic 1BR Attached End-Unit LargeFenced Yard
Historic 1BR attached end-unit cottage (one shared wall — not a detached home) in Lanark Village. Built in the 1930s as former military housing. Large wooded, fully fenced yard. Located near the National Forest (approx. 350 ft), with abundant wildlife. Clean, comfortable, and quaint — not luxury accommodations. Walk to marina (boat access & fishing). 2 mi to St. James Bay Golf, 5 mi to shopping, 22 mi to Apalachicola. Modest historic community; homes vary in upkeep. Summer: hot, humid, bugs.

Check-in was as easy as it gets with great communication with the operator. The cottage was clean and convenient to the water. It is “cozy”, but has everything you need in a nice quiet location with a fenced in yard with lots of big trees for shade. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it! I will stay again.
Cute quite little space with everything we needed for a few days stay. Check in and host were great. Fenced in yard was good for our beagle to roam around. We would stay again when coming back to that area.
plenty of space to park was a huge plus for me! The people in the village are really cool and informational. The buildings in the area have alot of history from the 1940's military base that existed in the area. quiet and relaxing just how i like it when im working in the area!
The cottage was very clean, just what we needed, local people were so nice.
Must visit the museums and get the details of the history.
Outside could use some tidying

The property was quiet and clean except the stove and toaster oven were in poor condition and we didn't try to use them, also the AC units were not very clean. The bathroom was tiny but functional.
It was ok but small and rustic.
This place was exactly as described. Definitely, not the Ritz Carlton, but perfect for a few nights to check out the sites in the area. The neighborhood seemed to be pretty safe and quiet. The shower is definitely a big step up to get into. Spacious yard for the pups to enjoy and well lit. The only complaint I would have is the difficulty of opening the fence entrance into the yard. Otherwise, would recommend.
Arrived late at night, extremely hard to find the house. Lock box for keys would not open. Finally(after an hour )got it open with a screwdriver because someone had not put the keys in correctly and it was jammed. Walked in and were flabbergasted at how inaccurate the listing was. In our opinion not clean, smelled like mildew, the bed was basically on the floor with a piece of wood trim around it that made it extremely uncomfortable, the bathroom was so small it was almost impossible to move around. The driveway in was poorly marked and extremely tight to navigate in our truck. I would say the owner is a marketing genius, because the only accurate thing about the listing was the picture of the living room that was the nicest cleanest room in the house. I have had poor VRVO experiences before but this one topped them all. I will never stay here again and would advise anyone I personally know not to either.
Cozy, quaint one bdrm in historic Camp Gordon Johnston area. (Lanark Village, FL) It was perfect for our stay with our dog. Private yard for your dog, and parking. Friendly neighbors!
We came to town with the intention of moving to Florida. After staying at this house, we decided that we loved the location, neighbors, and overall vibe of the place, we bought a house 3 blocks away! We closed 3 weeks after coming to town and are very happy to be here! Thank you, Jennifer!!

Decent stay for the money
The property was mostly as described. It was very hard to get into the yard as the “road” was very narrow. We had to turn the gas on to have hot water and a gas tech ended up having to come bleed the gas lines at the water heater the next day so we could take showers. Also the a/c stays turned off so it was very hot and muggy the first night. Lastly the coffee pot was never cleaned out and had mold growing so we were not able to have coffee. Other than that the property was as advertised.
This was my first time to stay in this unit at Lanark Village. It was a spacious 1 bedroom/1 bath, with a small back porch and fenced in yard. My pups loved running around the yard. My Sister stayed in a different unit with her dog, which was a 5 minute walk. This was her 1st time to stay in the area, so I showed her around. In parking in the yard, there are pine trees which the host mentions and tells of a free parking lot around the area. I parked in the yard and have pine tar on my vehicle. No big deal to me, but might be to some folks. There is such wonderful history, in this old Florida community. I would definitely visit again! Thanks for the hospitality!!😊

Do Not Stay Here
This rental was not what was represented in thebe photos. The shower was tiny and had a high lip to step over. The bed was on the ground inside a frame. My husband has had 7 knee replacements and could not step into shower or get up from bed. The coffee pot was filthy as was the toaster oven so we knew we couldn’t cook. We stayed one night and immediately contacted the hosts who said to contact VRBO. We will continue to fight for a refund.

Need to revise listing
To start off the house was dirty, no toilet paper, the bathroom smells of mold. The listing stated the couch was a futon, it was not so my daughter had to sleep on a couch for the week. There is no garbage service at the house and the answer they gave me on what to do with the trash was to take it to the dumpster at the hardware store in town (which is a private dumpster)! The kitchen sink takes hours to drain after you do dishes and only a few of the burners work on the stove. There were still toothbrushes on the sink from previous guests when we arrived, and none of the doors will close and latch including the bathroom and main entry door. With a little maintenance and cleaning it could be a nice place to stay especially for the price.
