Nice location for wine tasting and trips to Lamego. House was a little dated but comfortable. Julio the owner was very kind and accommodating.

Perfect location to get away...
My wife and I celebrated our 25 year wedding anniversary at the Quinta. It's location made it convenient to visit local museums, wineries and Churches. The location also allowed us to explore many nearby small towns for amazing meals and to meet lovely people. Porto is only ~1.4hrs by tollway, which is 90% of the travel.
We highly recommend taking the train, just across the Douro in Régua, out to Pocinho for a relaxing lunch and walk around the quaint town before returning. The railway view from Pinhão to Pocinho is one of the best in Europe!
The rooms were nice and well appointed. The mattress and pillows were comfortable.
We visited in late November which was cooler temperatures, as typical. We would have liked a heater in the kitchen but admit we are a bit thin-skinned.

Excellent Place to Stay in the Douro Valley
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Wine House. The house was even better than advertised and kept very clean. Julio met us, showed us around the house (with samples of different ports) and provided his recommendations for things to see and do, including maps and brochures. Altogether, a very positive experience.

Well appointed home in quiet village close to Douro Valley.
Our short stay here was very comfortable. The flat is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. Full of character with a courteous and helpful owner. The access road is a little narrow and, with our big cumbersome car, getting in and out of the car park was difficult. However we overcame this by driving up the road 500 metres to a turning spot and this overcame the problem. The neighbours were really friendly and helpful. We spent four nights here in February when the weather was rather dull and drizzly but we could still appreciate the views. At a warmer time of the year, one could spend pleasant evenings on the balcony. Our advantage was to be there in the height of the citrus fruit season - delicious lemons and oranges from the courtyard and the garden opposite. A place to recommend!
