We stayed at this spacious Lake Placid home for five days in April 2024 and will forever have the memories of having witnessed the 2024 total solar eclipse on the front porch. While it snowed about a foot before our arrival, the driveway and walkway were cleared to welcome us to the home. We were within easy walking distance from many restaurants, shops and the entire downtown Lake Placid area. Despite being close to other houses on the road, the house felt private and quiet.
The house was clean, well stocked and there was plenty of space for five adults and two children. We enjoyed cooking meals together, playing games on the dining table and waking up to the beautiful mountain view. There were mixed reviews on the comfort of the beds, but this comes down to personal preference and overall the accommodations were very comfortable. There was a small rec area downstairs with a huge washer and dryer, which we appreciated. The stairs down to this room are a bit steep, so those traveling with younger kids may want to bring a travel gate.
This is a wonderful home for spending time with a large family and visiting the area, so we would highly recommend staying here and hope to return.
