Our cabin provides easy access to the various outdoor activities in the Lake Lure area such as golfing, horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, water sports, and sightseeing.



    The Space:

    Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. After a full day of outdoor activities, it is time to relax at The Base Camp, a cozy mountain log cabin retreat near stunning Lake Lure. At The Base Camp, explorers will be able to enjoy all the modern amenities in a rustic, yet charming, setting in a secluded gated community. Our cabin provides easy access to the various outdoor activities in the Lake Lure area such as golfing, horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, water sports, and sightseeing.



    Guest Access:

    We provide guests with the code to the keypad on the front door to have easy access to come and go at your leisure. The guests have access to the whole house with the exception of some closets that are locked with owner storage.



    The Neighborhood:

    Our cabin is located in a secluded, gated community close to Lake Lure. It is about a 20 minute drive to town!



    Getting Around:

    There is space in the driveway for 3-4 cars to park! Please be respectful of our neighbors if you decide to hike around the house and adhere to the signs posted around our property.



    Interaction with Guests:

    We are available to answer questions about the area or offer suggestions on how to spend your time in Lake Lure. Feel free to reach out via email or text message as well.

Perfect little getaway!

Cabin was clean and comfortable! Neighborhood was quiet, and there was a great little park with small playground just a short walk away. For just us and our two daughters, this place was perfect!

What a great Base Camp- in a perfect location to visit neighboring mountain towns.

This homey cabin in the woods was perfect for our trip to the Lake Lure area. With spacious bedrooms and a nice kitchen we were ready to explore the area. This cabin is very comfortable. There is a loft area that would be good for children. This cabin is a great value.

Happy We used the Base camp for our stay!!!!

property was Great ! It was better than description, my wife & I & Brother & Sister in laws really enjoyed our stay of 5 Nights, the WIFI definitely comes in handy as the area does have terribly bad cell & internet connections. The coded gate is nice as we felt very secure & safe !The beautiful scenery was a plus as trees were starting to turn into the fall colors . Would highly Recommend this Property to any one coming to the Marion N.C. area !

We had a wonderful stay at base camp. Great location not too close to the hustle and bustle but not too far away. Lots of wildlife to enjoy! Trails. Fully stocked kitchen plenty of utensils. Pots. Pans etc. would definitely return here in the future.

Beautiful Home! Will absolutely stay there again.

The location was perfect and it gave a safe but secluded feeling. It was so nice and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. The grill had a full tank and we easy to use. The deck is beautiful and the pond around the back was lovely. We were sad our stay was only 2 night and would have stayed for a week comfortably. I travelled with my sister in law and our kids, we felt safe the entire time. It was not far from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock which are deficiently places you must visit. CAn not wait to go back.

Peaceful retreat!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We visited Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Chimney Rock State Park. We also went to Bear Lake and paddled to Sols Creek Falls which is a 2.5 mile paddle each way to the falls. Additionally we visited Brevard/Dupont Foster and went swimming at Hooker Falls and visited the Fish Hackery ,which is closed but the hiking is spectacular. On our way out of town we visited the grand reopening of River Watch is Cimney Rock and happened to be the first guests for the reopening. The burgers are amazing.
