Great stay!

This was a great place to unwind after a day out in Itasca. Clean, cozy and private without being secluded. Friendly hosts with delicious ice cream, they even add a cherry on top!

Family Get Away

My family and I enjoyed our stay and loved how close it was to the park and long lake! It was clean and the property manager was readily available to answer any and all questions! We will hopefully be able to book our stay here again for next year!

Little Motel

This was the perfect location for our stay in upper Minnesota. The little motel is clean and modern with a log cabin feel. This is our second stay here and we tried a different room, which was also lovely. We would definitely stay again@

Beautiful place right outside Itasca State Park

My husband, daughter and grandson spent two nights at Tall Timber will we explored the area. The lodging is lovely and clean and everything we needed for our stay. Our host Christine is wonderful. An added bonus is the gift shop, ice cream and pizza right on site!

Perfect location

Perfect location at the north entrance to Itasca State Park and the Mississippi headwaters. The room was quiet and clean, the towels were big and fluffy, the bed was very comfortable and there was ice cream across the parking lot. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Great spot just outside itasca

Super easy access for me and my dog to hike in Itasca state park. Clean and rooms were new. Check in and out were simple and straight forward. Hopefully will be back this winter for some snowmobiling.

Great place to enjoy Itasca

We enjoyed our time at Big Timbers! We were a family with two young kids and used the Vrbo to enjoy Itasca. The room was great and the bathtub was helpful with kids. We even walked nextdoor to get ice cream and pizza. This was a fantastic place to serve as your base camp when enjoying the park.

I think the property is very new. Everything was really clean and comfortable. The owners were very accommodating for anything we needed. The ice cream shop was a added bonus for the kids.

Convenient and clean

We stayed here in our first trip up to Itasca State Park. It was very clean, comfortable and right outside the North gate of the park. We had a couple questions and they were answered right away. Nice to have the gift shop right in property as well. Definitely planning to stay again when we are back up that way.

Perfect spot for a visit to Itasca

Exceeded expectations. Spotless, comfortable beds, and a large bathroom. The on-site ice cream shop & gift store was a nice plus. I definitely will be staying here again. So cozy that I ended up sleeping most of the day away. If you are planning to bike Itasca State Park, this location couldn't be closer. You can leave your car at the motel.

Very friendly and accommodating

Christine was excellent about accommodating for our latex allergy, making sure any rubbery items were removed during our stay. We had a safe and relaxing stay without allergic reactions. We’re so thankful that she cared about our safety! The property is beautiful and clean. It’s so close to Itasca State Park and made going in and out of the park easy and quick.
